Botox part time- junior doctos/nurses

Hi, do any junior doctors do part-time botox clinics to supplement their income? I have been considering doing this myself.

When did you start? Which course did you go on, how much was it? Have you had any trouble with your clinical supervisor? How do you work the clinic around medical rotas? Is it enjoyable? How much do you pay per year for insurance? What kind of income do you generate from botox clinics if I may be so bold as to ask?

I would first ask your employer if it’s not conflicting work to them.
    Mortgage free wannabe

    Actual mortgage stating amount £75,150

Overpayment paused to pay off cc

    Starting balance £66,565.45

    Current balance £55,819

    Cc debt free.

  • You're being very bold tbh, you want to start a side business but you want someone to hand EVERYTHING to you on a plate. Research it yourself, if you cant, then maybe self employment isn't for you?

But yeah, make sure your employer allows it.

Obviously junior doctors are not being worked hard enough if they are capable of a business on the side as well.

Personally I'd want a doctor with experience.

I have to say that the chances of finding a junior doctor on here with a side line in botox injections is quite slim, don't you think.

If you're a doctor I assume you have friends in the medical profession with more knowledge on this sort of thing. My advice is to ask around at work.
  • To be brutally honest, the juniors that I've worked with who plan to do botox and the like are the ones that tend to have had clinical concerns flagged and/or have had other issues at ARCP. I'm sure it's not the case with yourself, but consider the implications of being in a specialty training programme (I presume you are in one and having this business - where are you going to do the procedures? Can you deal with complications including anaphylaxis? How will you follow up patients? Who will deal with issues when you're away/on-call/at work? I think it is difficult to do all this within a training programme, different, once you have left or finished training.

Sigh..its ridiculous how many investigations now involve botox cases...its the new facebook in terms of volume of work.

    1. talk to your employer before you look any further - read their fraud, bribery, outside employment policy (it might be called something different but there will be something like that).
    2. if you do set it up - be squeaky clean - don't advertise or look like you are advertising during working hours/sick leave etc.
    3. don't see any patients from your NHS work
