mysupermarket used to have a chart for each item, showing price changes over the last year. I can't see it any more - has this feature been removed? Any alternatives?

I noticed this too, it was a handy tool. It still shows today's price in comparison to the previous average, but doesn't show the week by week fluctuations. I wonder why they pulled it?0

It's certainly still there for some products
Search for a product, click on a hit and the following will be displayed:

Hi all,
I wrote this to MySupermarket.com:
"Hi,
I have been an avid fan of your website for several years now.
But....
Have you now stopped providing the “price history” chart for products? This let’s us see how the price of an individual product has varied over the past year. So we can decide if we should buy or wait for a (historically likely) lower price.
Is this a temporary glitch or are you going to permanently deprive us of this valuable tool?"

And this morning I got this reply:
"Thank you for your message.
Our CEO recently took a business decision to remove the price graphs from mySupermarket to enable our teams to focus on enhancing other features and support to mySupermarket.
I'll pass your feedback forward and if they do ever decide to reinstate the graphs in the future, I'll be sure to let you know!
In the meantime, I apologise for any inconvenience caused."
==================
I conclude we will gradually lose this useful facility.....unless enough of us complain to MySupermarket.......0 -
Appalling. Big supermarkets must have put pressure on them. I just sent them (support@mysupermarket.com) trhis email. We need to get more people to complain, maybe they will reverse this decision. But I doubt it.

Hi,
I have been an avid fan of your website for several years now. But I understand your CEO has taken the "business decision to remove the price graphs from mySupermarket to enable our teams to focus on enhancing other features and support to mySupermarket". This is a really bad decision and it clearly is against your users, people looking to check on the sneaky supermarkets and make sure an item was really on sale. I can only think that your "business decision" has been motivated by greed and pressure from the supermarkets as there is no substance on your reply. There no other features that have been enhanced by taking this feature off. I for one will be taking my custom somewhere else. Fortunately CamelCamelCamel provides full price history of Amazon products (see link below). And with Amazon growing every day on the groceries sector perhaps this will teach the supermarkets, and sites your yours, to teach their customers fairly.
Yours truly,
A seriously disappointed user

It's worth pointing out that the average price is next to useless. Without knowing the lowest and highest price the average price is not useful at all. Also knowing the lowest and highest by itself is not good enough, as you need to see how many times and when it hit the lowest. Often items are put on very cheap price but that price may be once a year only. What the price graph allowed to see was the "usual low price" and when you were likely to get it. No average price can give you that.0

Update: Price History still works on the iOS App (see image link below). You can move the vertical bar to see the price at any point in time. I don't really know how long this will last, most likely they have an app update in the works to remove this functionality so don't update your App to keep this working. Also on an App update 4 months ago they added unstoppable video ads to the App which reviewers hated as they seem to run every time you click on a product. This basically made a 5 star app a 1 star app as all reviewers hated the ads. So you have to "pay" with your time to get the data now...
What a great way to destroy a company!

I've always used the graphs to evidence what I suspected I.e that a supermarket has hiked up a price. It's generally just because they can and way above any rate of inflation. I have then resolved to buy that particular item elsewhere whenever possible.
It's one of the reasons I now do about 95% of my shopping in Aldi with occasional trips to £ shop or Farmfoods.
This is definitely a decision with the supermarkets in mind. Just trying to hide rising prices from shoppers and con them just like shrinking packages. It's patronising and insulting. I0 -

Is it not because of the shrinking packages the reason why they've decided to remove the graph. It's difficult to have a guide if you're not comparing like for like.0
