Nat Insurance Deficiency

The number you have to ring is 01912182550 to see if you are eligible. I did so on behave of my wife, and I was told that she had only 5 years paid contributions, and as she is 67, she has not got enough working years left to benefit. In fact she is 1 year short of being eligible to make up the other 5 years, even though she did pay the married women's reduced Nat insurance rate. Has any body else had the same problem?
