From oct 2nd my organisation are being advised to commence registration(this is Scotland)..A factor in our registration is achieving svq 2 in social care,i completed this in 1999....I can not find my certificate,phoned sqa who deal with qualifications and was told I have to pay £38 for a duplicate certificate.i,m thinking I might be as well completing svq2 again!...anyone any advice?...thanks

    It costs over £1000 to do the SVQ, and there is no other way of getting your certificate (unless you manage to find your original). So, as you need it to register with the SSSC, I think you just have to pay the £38, and put your certificate in a safe place in case its ever needed again.

    Unless you want to request that your employer puts you through the SVQ3 or HNC Social Care instead, and update your knowledge and give yoursel more work ;-)

    At £1500 to complete the svq, just bite the bullet and pay for the certificate.
    If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!
