  • Did you get any further Fred?
I just came across your challenge and there must be loads of people who are just realising how much it's going to cost to move their DB pot into another investment.
I have about 300k in a couple of old company pensions and to be honest with no mortgage or dependants or wife I thought it would be worth looking moving them.
Especially when I know I don't have too long live. ( I'm only 55) but health problems)
I don't think you need to be a IFA to realise my benefit of about 12k / year ain't much use to me.

If your circumstances are more immediate, you may be entitled to more access to your pension benefits. For example, if you're diagnosed with a very serious or terminal condition, where your life expectancy is determined to be less than 12 months, you may be able to take the whole of your pension pot as a lump sum, although special tax rules will apply.

Otherwise, although you would still have to take advice from a Pensions Transfer Specialist, your circumstances would seem to make the Adviser likely to come down on the positive side?
