I couldn't quite believe it last week when Tesco Greek Style full fat yogurt we've been buying for some time at £1 or £1.10 was down to 80p for 500g and the 1kg tub was £1.55. This wasn't marked up as a special offer either. Confused, I certainly was, will be interested to see what it is this week!

    onwards and upwards
  • Prices look set to rise over the next few months ,but a lot of it is to do with market forces .

There are parts of France that apparently can't find butter in the SM at all

Perhaps we shall be back to rationing at this rate :) I think we all perhaps eat far too much anyway, as we have all got used to full larders and fridges .

Maybe cutting back on buying stuff to throw in the bin would be a good start.

I now only shop maybe 2-3 times a month, and then only what I really have run out of and I am working my way through the freezer.

Not particularly, what were you paying before? Aldi or Lidl do a reasonable selection of toothpaste in the range of £0.70 and Home Bargains or similar usually have tubes for £1. Granted, this will be your straightforward 'cleans your teeth' toothpaste, no magical stuff that brings unicorns back from the dead.

Another one noticing significant increases with butter and spread (i.e. butter/vegetable oil blend). Full priced meat has definitely gone up in our neck of the woods. Luckily I've found a Sainsbury's with decent YS offers, but it's almost all pork, which gets a bit boring.
