Hi,
My partner cleans at our office 2 hours a day twice a week.
She has been employed since March and the company holiday runs from May 1 - April 30
She has just asked for 1 day holiday to be told she doesnt work enough hours to be entitled to holiday pay so has to take it unpaid.
Is this true?
Ive tried looking on the web for advice but its a mine field of info all confusing.
Anybody in the know about salaries and holiday pay enlighten the situation a little please?
Thanks in adavnce

I work it out as 22 hours give or take so thats 22/4 = 5.5 days.Dwy galon, un dyhead,
Dwy dafod ond un iaith,
Dwy raff yn cydio’n ddolen,
Dau enaid ond un taith.0 -
Holiday pay is due prorata all workers are due holiday pay.
statutory minimum is 5.6 weeks
For a 2 day week that is 11.2 days(paid at the daily rate of 2hrs)
edit:
With the holiday year starting May 1st the holiday for March/April is lost.0 -
Thankyou guys, ill get her to go back and raise it with the boss.0

Just one question - is she actually employed? Or self- employed? Because part time cleaners are not always employees. And self-employed people don't get holiday pay. Just a thought....!0
