BTW, when I was in Specsavers on Saturday I saw a leaflet about them removing earwax. Not by syringing like at the docs but by suction.

DH had this done a few years ago and it was very effective but was a three month wait on the NHS. If he needed it again it would be worth paying £35 not to be deaf for three months.

I have never seen this advertised and I told them they should make it more widely known

I bought a syringe (Well, a rubber ball squirter) off Amazon and it works for me, that said I only get blocked ears a couple of times a year and always use wax softener before I use it.

Same here - I've used a electric toothbrush for years and I get the cheapo ones and change often. You are supposed to change every 4 months anyway but I think if you have the branded ones which are dear you are tempted to make them last a bit longer.

We have an Oral B, and the Nevadent ones are compatible with it, can't recall whether they are Lidl or Aldi.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

  • Hi Elite, I joined you two years ago when my Mam was in hospital, we lost her, shortly followed by my mother in law. Then I had a major meltdown & am just starting to be myself again. Thought I’d best explain my absence.
I’m now feel ready to join you all again.

The ones I get off fleabay are dirt cheap and last about two months, as soon as they go a bit floppy I bin 'em.
I've used them for 5+years now.

I wonder if the quality is so rubbish that they are not doing as well as they should from Day 1? Are you losing most of the benefits of an electric toothbrush by using feeble brushes?

I buy official brushes and after 5 months the only difference from new is that the colour bars that show you when to change are faded.

Just back from a couple of weeks in Spain and W have (at last) sent me some conditional spend coupons. I'm a bit out of touch so if anyone can suggest any good deals to combine with My Picks I would appreciate it.
