I take many things to my young single homeless/housing support charity and a friend who works with refugee families. If they don't need the stuff it will eventually go to 'cash for clothes' or similar for a few extra pennies.

Good find with the cardies! Our local Banardos charges more than Primark!

Sometimes I think I take for granted how lucky I am to have a roof over my head and to feel safe.

Barnardos seems to charge different prices depending on location. Ours has all clothes at £1.99. In Rhyl, where I go every so often (not for the charity shops!) everything is 99p and I have found loads of stuff there, so much so that I will never again buy a black tee, short sleeves or long! I also go there for zips and buttons as it's cheaper than buying new. Sometimes I get some dye from Wilko and refresh black (especially) trousers, tee shirts etc which have faded. They come out like new and it's worth the outlay, especially if it's one of the TCB or Q bonus days. I did a 99p pair of jeans recently, together with old jeans which I'm going to sew with, dying them the jeans colour, which I don't intend to do again as they came out a very peculiar colour and nothing like any jeans I'd seen before. They are OK though and I was particularly pleased that the yellow stitching had been done in polyester or something which didn't take the dye so it's still there very clearly on the jeans.

I know you are asking DD, but having been a secretary (not medical) you develop a system, things like that would not be missed, so I would believe the secretary.

Thanks E. I agree with you. Due to the bad experiences that I am having with my local hospital, I document stuff. I didn't receive a copy of the letter that is supposed to be sent to my GP after a consultation. It usually comes within 4-5 weeks. I phoned earlier in the week and the secretary said that there was no notes on the system and she would chase it up for me but was not surprised with that doctor.

I had a call from that doctor this morning asking how I was and then asking what we did and what plan was made at the consultation. I asked him why and he replied that he'd written up and uploaded the notes but someone (secretary) must have lost them. When I said that if you uploaded them, the notes would be there.

Went very quiet. Then he started talking medical terminology about me. I asked him to talk in layman's terms as I didn't understand what he was trying to say. He changed the subject to why I wanted a copy of the letter anyway :rotfl::rotfl:

I await to see what he writes in his letter. I asked him to document that he'd phoned me to ask what had been done/planned in his letter to my GP.

    How bizarre.

DD, in your professional capacity, when a hospital doctor says that he uploaded a letter about your consultation and the secretary says that he made no notes on the system and that that's not unusual for said doctor, who would you believe? My money is on the secretary.

I'd go with the secretary too. Consultants will swear blind that they did something and end up either not doing it properly or at all . the secretary will know exactly how the consultant operates and what he does/doesnt do on the system xx
