Our parcel box has been one of the best things we bought, saves petrol trailing to the post office.:j
Absolutely!,...the queues in our PO to collect parcels were horrendous, and if you took your car you had to either buy a ticket in the pay and display or take a chance and hope the warden didnt come round whilst you were in the long queue...I just couldnt be bothered with it anymore, so bought the parcel box and like you say, it is fantastic.Keep Moving 2018 challenge.

Thank you - that was very helpful.. As a try out I booked just one journey with Virgin. The train times were slightly different from the ones you quoted though so I am not sure if it worked as it should. £1.20 for a child on the22.15 train but the confirmation said it was 22.11 from Waverley arriving at 22.15.
Are there just specific train times this works on or was this just the cheapest ? I'm feeling my way slowly !
It has to be specific trains - the LNER offer has to be LNER trains, Virgin West Coast offer has to use the Virgin West Coast train. There aren't many of them hence the ones quoted - you can double check during when booking as they show their logos.
If you have chosen the wrong one, could you cancel and rebook? Still worth booking the right one as even at £2.40 (2x£1.20 tickets) you would be £2.60 or £7.60 up.
Also worth booking LNER too - notice I was (Little Anon was) going from Haymarket to Waverley, not from Waverley to Haymarket (on this occasion
)

I got fed up with missing parcels, and having to go and collect them from the PO....so bought a lockable parcel box...this is now fixed outside, and any parcels are left in there nice and secure :TEnterprise_1701C wrote: »Who was it on here that was after the coffee maker? Lidl Black Friday deals

My daughter if flying with Ryanair from Prestwick to Tenerife next week, anyone heard any reports on how strict they are being on size of their new "personal bag" 20x25x40 policy???
In the past I have never had any problems with different shape which might be slightly bigger

Anon, thank you so much for this very detailed post. I have attempted my first bookings so fingers crossed I've done it right
I've had a look at the GWR site and the cheapest I'm coming up with is £2.45, Salisbury to Tisbury. Did you manage to better this at all, before I send my child on another trip on their own? :eek:Yes, £1.20 for a child on the options above, assuming you are talking about Virgin West Coast (GWR?).

Sorry Anon, I wasn't very clear. I've booked the 2 trips you mentioned, thanks.
There is also an offer on Nectar for 2000 points when booking a trip through GWR. This is the trip I found for £2.45 but before I book it I just wondered if you or anyone else had found a better value trip for the little ones to visit their friendsTIA

Tweets is right, it was me, and thats he exact one I bought. I think I may try to buy another and return it. But probably have only one a store, and I aint queuing.

I was also wondering, but google to the rescue
The parcel box allows deliveries of larger items when you are not home. No more trips to the post office or cards through your door. Initially, the lid is left unlocked so the lid can be lifted.When the delivery is made, the lock is manually turned by the delivery man and the box is then locked. To remove your parcel, use the key to open the lock and lift the lid.0
