Good afternoon everyone, I am in dire need of help, I have taken on the task of organising a tour of Srilanka next year for a few friends but know nothing about it. Having dismissed (wrongly) package deals, I have spent days trying to find places to go and decent hotels that dont cost the earth.Unfortunately I have now discovered package deals are so much cheaper and the hotels included are far superior.I have already booked the flights so there is no going back on this tour now, but it is a case of the blind leading the blind. So, if anybody has been there, done that etc, please please tell me where we should go that is of interest and any hotels you can recommend. Thanks a million if anyone can make any suggestions.

    Hi there

Travelsphere do a 'Make your own way there' tour....

    Highlights for me were

Yala - Jeep safari to see leopards, elephants, crocs, amazing birds.

Kandy - Beautiful Old Colonial town. Whilst there the Royal Botanical Gardens & Dambulla Cave temples worth a visit.

    Nawaro Eliya - Tea plantations

    Beruwela - beaches

Places I didn't enjoy were Colombo - didn't feel safe there and Sigiriya Rock Fortress - looks amazing but lots of hassle from aggressive young men insisting on 'helping' you climb then demanding a hefty payment!

    HTH a little :)

Try phoning the holiday arm of the flight company (eg BA holidays if you have BA flights booked) and ask them to make it into a package ie add hotels on to your booking.

Question: What is the better return, 10p per litre off 50 litres at Mr T or about 6 prize draw entries for 6 x £10 petrol purchases at Mr S?!
    I think....

My S today had Child’s Farm baby bath, bedtime bath, baby wash, shampoo and conditioner all for 50p. They also had Bepanthen nappy cream and baby Vicks and Pampers size 6 nappies for 50p too. MG’s daughter has a 4 month old so I picked some up for her :) Might be usefulfor some other Eliters :)

The new Co-op frozen meal deal for £5 or £4.50 if you have the blue NUS card. Quite a good deal apart from the weird Crunchie ice cream

Don't know if it helps with the cos alcohol but Tesco have 25% off when you buy 6 bottles at the moment .
Sorry 25% is only off wines and champers. Ignore me x

Mr T is £5 of real money, assuming you use petrol.

6 prize draw entries = 6 x minimum of 200 points ~ £1 of your sainsbob shopping or £2 on a double up.

6 x £1 = £6, so that is better and has the potential to be a bigger amount if you win a prize draw or use it in a double up.

I have some good news to share. :)

    I have a teeny 7lb 15oz grandson. :A

Born yesterday morning after I made an.early morning dash to look after Teeny DGD from Poole to Surrey.

DD had half hour drive to hospital once I got here and gave birth within hour of getting there so I guess I only just made it. :rotfl:

Mum and baby doing well, no name decided yet though...my suggestions keep getting dismissed :rotfl:
