Hi silvercar, that was how Apple described my ipad when I contacted them after being informed that a certain companys app needed 10.1 or over and as mine is 9.3.1 I got in touch with Apple who told me there will be no more updates. Now that requirement of 10.1 or over has popped up a couple of times since.

My iPad 2 runs on ioS 9.3.5 for evermore.

Afternoon all - massive computer problems yesterday.

Re ipads - I've got an 8 year old ipad 2 which I am very emotionally attached to. Apart from tardiness its not too bad - I checked this morning and its IOS 9.3.5 and no updates due. I don't have many apps on it anyway but if it started having problems I would just delete facebook again - wretched app just uses up all of the battery.
I cleared the cache this morning and I also did the few updates that needed doing - after I'd ticked a couple I got the notification from Apple that I had to agree to new terms and conditions before any updates were done - 18 pages of them - OMG  - who has enough time in their lives to read, absorb and understand 18 pages of Apple gobblegook :(

The main computer had a major melt down yesterday with emails not coming in - I am outlook 2010 apparently.
Whilst I was waiting for OH to come home to fix it I just went to the My Sky pages but even that wasn't straight forward. It said IE11 no longer supports My Sky so I had to go to google chrome to access it. I can only see the spam emails in the spam folder on My Sky and now they also come with adverts inbetween the messages :(

With emails on the main computer the dialogue box was coming up every 2 minutes and when I did a "send and receive" I got the fault message "receiving error ()x800CCC92) your email server rejected your login ...etc" (google it, its horrendous)
OH tried every fix it possible all yesterday afternoon but no joy.
I think it all stems back to a meltdown it had on Friday when there was new updates and I had to do a forced shutdown and restart with the new updates to get things running again.

This morning I googled the fault myself but the various things you can try were much too complicated for me to tackle. I thought I would try some basic house keeping, doing a C clean and then deleted everything lingering in the delete box and this seemed to cure the problem for now.
Finally all of the missing emails downloaded including duplicates of everything from the weekend and odd emails going as far back as September 5th.
I just need a wet afternoon and a good radio play now to do a mass delete of the duplicates and then I'll delete the contents of the deleted box again so it wont build up like it did.

Frocking reminds me of the lovely LEJC. I miss her :(

    Yes exactly.

Frocktober is a good idea - even those like me that cant join in, it does make you stop and rethink your shopping strategy.

I think Lejc used her normal take-aways budget for the month - quite an eye opener.

downsizing the cupboards in the run up to Christmas is a good idea anyway especially as there will be a lot less shopping to be done after the death of APGs

Incidentally I put a message on Olio and a nice lady came to collect a bottle of Foraging Fox beetroot ketchup (mine have only got October expiry dates if anyone still has bottles unused), some weird chilli in oil and 6 of the freebie veggie burgers.
A week later she sent me a message to say she had tomatoes, beans and garlic to spare which where much more useful to me.
So a method of getting free produce without using any of your Frocktober budget

  • I’ve got Di’s lamb tagine in the slow cooker, made with the waities lamb mince. OH came into the kitchen just now and said how nice it smelt. We’ll probably have it tomorrow night as I like to let the flavours “mellow” overnight.

    I’ll report back. :)

I'm sure you will love it. I've got liver and bacon casserole in my slow cooker it smells lovely.

    Evening all!

On GreenJinn there's 45p off KTC chickpeas in Sainsburys. They're 35p in there at the moment, my receipt was confirmed within 5 minutes.....and the 45p!

thanks for this- I tried looking for it on mysupermarket last night and it wasn't listed :(

    Ethnic foods in my store.

I also looked for the freebie Bananito bar but no joy - tried - dried fruit, museli bars, free-from and the snack bar range near the tills ... but then I read the app and it only seems to be Sainsburys locals and only a select few :(
So I wont be experiencing solar dried bananas and dark chocolate

On the plus side I did find a few reduced items - 10p carrot and coriander soup, 20p Branstons spicy beans and 22p coleslaw - our stores, all of them are awful for RTC and yellow labels
