See I am too kind both of the 4.5 tog doubles I bought at good prices I gave to my DDs.
Although one did have one of those awful paper like covers. I prefer a good old poly cotton cover on my duvets.
Argos have some nice duvet sets in clearance. Just reserved one. :eek:0 -

Just looking around again - this is one of the sources of my confusion, from this very website:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2018/09/asda-price-guarantee-to-be-scrapped/
"Asda says the scheme, which has run since 2010, will continue as normal until 3 October - you won't be able to redeem vouchers after then." [My emphasis]
Not what the email suggests. It says continue as normal until 3 October as APG check site remains as normal online, therefore being able to claim vouchers online until that date and vouchers then valid for 28 days from when you claim.
Is the MSE news article's assertion "you won't be able to redeem vouchers after then" inaccurate? Or I am misreading/misunderstanding what the email says (assuming it has been copied faithfully and accurately onto this thread)? Or something else?
I guess we are still (just about the only ones still) using the system so know more than anyone else does. I just don't want to be potentially printing off my vouchers on 3rd October (or 2nd as not completely sure that I can go onto the date itself) and having them say expiry date 30th or 31st October, only to get to the store in mid- or late-October and be told that, despite that, they all ceased to be valid on 3rd October.0 -
I've gone for this one thanks tornado. :A Review did say soft cover.
I did look in my local As yesterday but didn't see any, I should have looked online.
Sorry for your hard work savvy but I wouldn't have got to my nearest Morries for £2 in petrol.
Off to bed now, couple more nights before I pick it up and then I might sleep more soundly.0 -

It was the exact wording of the email I got savvy. So I agree with zippy.
Goodnight :A0 -
Thank you :A
I noticed in Sainsbobs today they had single ones reduced but no sign of any doubles. Which made me wonder if any other stores had reduced theirs.
Indeed - the absence of something sometimes speaks louder. Could well mean your S has cleared out its doubles on RTC already but still available in some other S on clearance (or maybe temporarily OOS in your S and some doubles on clearance may come in later), if they have gone onto clearance at all. Or even if they ever existed. I don't know - I have not visited S and, even if I were to visit my S, I would not have items that are available in "S anywhere". Was there a big empty section on the shelf next to the singles? Which may suggest some doubles may have been there that have gone.
I have no clue as to whether S has put any doubles on clearance or even has any doubles. We are left to whether someone finds some doubles in S on clearance that can say that they are. Until then we just wonder about their absence and whether they exist or are non-existent:rotfl:.
Does anyone know whether the McVitie's Tasties went onto RTC in the last few months in M? I said on my list, and still have my list saying, that they might do so. Well, I have had no trace of them for quite some time now. They have vanished from the one store in which they made an appearance at £1 when I put them back onto the list this year and I haven't seen them anywhere else. Makes me wonder whether they went onto a clearance that I never caught.
I know they were regularly £1 on a previous period in M and then went onto clearance, that I had, before months later they came back into one store for me with £1 and me saying they might go onto clearance again later. So they have form for going onto clearance before but I can't say. I just wonder about their completely vanishing and being absent for so long for me now - may suggest they got rid of them, on some period I didn't visit, on RTC. Same with the Oreo 10 packs that I last had left, with incomplete stock, at only one store showing £1 immediately after their offer at that price was due to be up but had vanished from everywhere else for me and then vanished completely. They must have been cleared out somehow.
If the McVitie's Tasties, or the Oreos 10 packs, went onto clearance two or three months ago, it's unlikely they will be found now. But, yet again, I can't rule out some random pack suddenly turning up or still being in stock, that's lingered on, with maybe unchanged SEL, in some store - may be RTC. If you do have the (what seems to me to be rare) sighting of them now, probably still find them on £1:mad::rotfl:. I've had that - thought things might have gone onto RTC. Found them eventually somewhere but then scanned them and still found them, slightly irritatingly, still stubbornly on their regular price:( or even gone up to some full price:eek:!:rotfl::rotfl:
It's not what I see on shelves in M, or not always - sometimes it's what is no longer there. Wish I knew what was no longer there as unfortunately I don't keep records of that. (This is the situations in which stock has been rotated and moved around and no space is left on the shelves - not a situation of a SEL or offer label and complete empty space as clearly that does tell us what was there. The more interesting ones are the items that vanish without trace, if only I knew what they were, and I don't then see any indication of anywhere - except, perhaps, the total absence including complete lack of SEL may indicate these items, if I have been to the store before and had them and know what they are but can no longer find them. The trouble is this is usually me chasing them to see if they are still on offer but no longer finding them in the store. The ones that are more interesting, that I don't know about, are those at full price, that I therefore have no details on, that gone onto RTC without me knowing or ever finding them - but maybe there is something absent from this freezer that was there before but I am not sure what it is?)0 -
The "absence of something" means "nothing". You have nothing in your store. But I have been thinking about this, for "nothing" means something - it is something that exists, even if only as a concept of the word "nothing".
"Nothing really matters"

Or, if you prefer, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQxdDHVIrLg
Nothing really matters. Therefore, it is something that matters. What is it that matters? Ah, nothing. It is "nothing" that matters - therefore it is something that matters, namely "nothing".
"Nothing takes the past away
Like the future
Nothing makes the darkness go
Like the light"

"Nothing" is doing quite a lot!
Maybe you have something in your store, if you have an empty space. That empty space is something there. It isn't nothing. Nothing is - well, nothing - you can't describe it. But an empty space is a space, of emptiness - it isn't "nothing" at all! (If it were "nothing", you would not even notice its presence. Because it would then not be there - it would be nothing. As the empty shelf is there and can be seen, it is something - it is an empty shelf. It is what exists after all the stock that was there has been sold or otherwise taken away from the shelf, or maybe was never there in the first place, but the shelf still exists. And even if the shelf were removed, what would then exist would be a space where the shelf once was. It would not be nothing. Even if the only people that could know about the absent shelf were those that knew a shelf had been there at some earlier time.)
Of course, :othis doesn't help you buy any double duvet:rotfl:.
Also though: if I post "nothing" for a while, in other words I don't post at all, what happens then? Quite a lot, due to my having posted previously at any time. People wonder where I am and why I am not posting. My posting "nothing" is, again, doing a lot. It's (probably) just I haven't had time to do so or haven't go round to doing so or I am doing something else (well, clearly I must be doing something else, if I am not posting but happen still to be alive) - so it's most probably an innocent explanation but doing nothing often makes people wonder far more rather than go for the immediate innocent explanation. In fact, I am then not doing nothing. I am doing something, I am doing quite a lot - namely I am causing people to wonder why I am not posting anything and perhaps to cause people to post wondering why I am not posting and then to cause discussion and cause others to post and discuss and wonder where I am. Quite a lot from doing "nothing"!0 -
