    that reminds me regarding Thorntons.

We were going to the little outlet one on Talke Pits which now has a fancy rebranding so I don't know what its called ... but sadly last time we found Thorntons had closed .

Looking at the location map yesterday there seems to be a new Thorntons in Hanley .... or perhaps its not new and we have just not noticed it before. Still a long way to go just for ice cream.

Anyway if you don't have a local one just keep checking incase a new one does open locally to you

Thanks. This is what I want from there, French Bean Canadian Wonder but they have discontinued them and there isn't any in my locals. If they have them in yours, could you get me some? They were 50p and I need about 10 packs, will obviously reimburse you for the postage. I leave about 75% of what we grow to dry out in the allotment and then use them as kidney beans in chill's etc.

I'll look out too MKS but nothing in our local yet:o

:( Just slightly frustrating that, with these on the comp. vs T

3x Heinz Spaghetti with Sausages in Tomato Sauce (400g) £3.00 £2.00
    1x Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Fruity Blueberry Breakfast Bars (6x37g) £1.25 £1.00
    1x Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Fruity Strawberry Breakfast Bars (6x37g) £1.25 £1.00

I get the comp. vs M

3x Heinz Spaghetti with Sausages in Tomato Sauce (400g) £3.00 £3.00:(
    1x Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Fruity Blueberry Breakfast Bars (6x37g) £1.25 N/A:(
    1x Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Fruity Strawberry Breakfast Bars (6x37g) £1.25 £2.00:(

due to the APG's calculation for M overall working out 'better'. I do not have the pricing for Spaghetti Plus Sausages from M for last time. However I would expect it would be 3 for £2, until 4th September in tandem with Heinz Ravioli. If it is, typical that the mbuy has been lost from the SELs of the collection stores:(.

The Strawberry Nutri-Grain bars were showing me £1 in M last Wednesday, which I suspect the system would still be on and it doesn't look like they have changed online. The Nutri-Grain bars were relatively rare across my stores - I did also find Apple in one store, at £1, with a space on the shelf beside it with no labelling suggesting my store had gone no trace of any other version. I did not find Blueberry and therefore I don't know that M have that, however I suspect they might somewhere. Typical that, if they were also rare across the collection stores, they found Strawberry in one of them like me, but they found it in a store with £2 SEL:(.

I have put a frown against Blueberry N/A as, even if M does not have it and therefore it is unavailable to find and the collectors have not found it, which is what N/A means, I have missed out the £1 comp. price available against T. Unfortunately the shopper bought these, that compare vs T:

2x Red Bull Sugarfree Energy Drink Cans (8x250) £12.00 £15.58:(:(:(

    Vs M
2x Red Bull Sugarfree Energy Drink Cans (8x250) £12.00 £12.00

It seems the shop should have worked vs M but it does not, with seemingly incorrect pricing for M from the SELs/lack of availablity in the collection stores.

The APG also doesn't have this for M:
    1x Kellogg's Special K Original (300g) £1.99 N/A

    The comp. vs T (yesterday):
    1x Kellogg's Special K Original (300g) £1.99 £1.00

Even though I ought to have bought a larger pack that worked out much better vs T at £1.50 a few weeks back (now expired), I tried the 300g pack yesterday. Unlike the shopper, that unwittingly bought, twice over, a very bad item vs T and left the shop to the M comp. to fail - in my view it should have worked vs M but it hasn't - I targeted T on my shop as I suspected the APG wouldn't have the 300g Special K for M this time.

(I also bought another item and, whilst I bought the correct flavour for vs T, this is unable to tell me that M no longer has the product in the collection stores. M has, or has had until recently, the other flavour that T doesn't have.)

The Special K has been in M on probably three recent periods, the last of which is the one appearance at one of my stores last Wednesday. I can therefore state truthfully that M did have the product on price collection day. I think that it probably would have returned N/A for the first of the three periods but I am unaware of whether it did or did not, that it might work with £1 for M on the second period, as indeed it did, and that it might be N/A on the third period, which unfortunately it is. I know that the reasons for this are most probably the reasons that I think it is. It seems to me that it was in M for a consistent period during the second time but it isn't around about now (or it wasn't last Wednesday - never know: it may be about to come back but hasn't done so more widely just yet, even then, if it does, it may take some time to pick up and/or may be absent again before it ever gets back to the system). I didn't expect to see the product in M last week but I did and I wasn't too happy with the location of the product. It doesn't prove that the collectors were not at my store (though it's most unlikely they were) because they may have been there but I think they wouldn't have picked it up from that particular shelf. It was either not in the collection stores or wasn't in the right place in any of the collection stores.

I wasn't content with that shelf and didn't think it would be picked up and indeed it wasn't. Neither does it show that the collectors were at any of my stores that didn't have the product, because I've been at one of those stores before, when there was something there that the APG didn't pick up. It turned out the product in my store wasn't in the collection stores.

I also bought Special K Original 300g (vs expensive £1:eek:!) during the second period several months ago. I put it on an M comp. when it was £1 in A (full price at any non-M competitor that had it) on the off-chance that it might pick up M's £1 and it did. I suspected it wouldn't work vs M this time, so at least I am changing my comps. correctly even if my shoppers are not:(. If the T comp. hasn't changed from what it was yesterday, it compares against T at £1.

    Please remember alcohol causes cancer.
It's not a good idea to drink too much as cancer is a terrible disease.

And so does smoking and lots of other things, but then, it's just a cruel world, that's life. Cheers, HIC!!
