bit of advice needed. MIL is in hospital and has been there for over a month. She is 92 with heart problems and is in a lot of pain from her hip but they cant seem to find out what is causing it and she is on Ibuprofen, Oramorphine and paracetomol. She also has a bedsore for which they are turning her every hour and a cathether, Also bedbound. They said couple of weeks ago she was ready to leave but her care home ( where she was for 2 years ) wont have her back as they say she is not mobile enough. So social worker has got us a list of care homes that take the council contract ( £550. per week instead of £800.00 ) but they are over 30 miles away.
Anyway when we discussed continuous care they said she had no medical problems!!
However that was before the hip pain so they are reassesing her again today. She is in a bad way. Anyone have any experience of dealing with NHS re continuous care?0 -

CCGs obviously don't want to pay if they don't have to, but social worker will try their hardest to secure this for you mum as health funding saves Social Care ie your council money.
Info is available on internet - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support/nhs-continuing-care/ and if your google 'NHS continuing healthcare' there are also other advice sites.
You may be best to contact your local carer's association who will have advice available specific to your area.0 -
