Then a bit of tidying and hoovering required we had a trail of ants this morning, after following them around I found where they were coming from and sorted it!!0 -

Morning all!
My weekend did not go quite as planned. I was running a marathon on Saturday and there was also camping available at the start/finish area. So we turned up on Friday evening and pitched our tent and I got an early night. The marathon was set to be a lot of fun, it's an off-road course, and 'Roman' themed so there were a lot of togas and it was started by a chap dressed as a Roman Centurion galloping up the field on a horse. I felt fine when I started running but unfortunately anything I ate or drank during the run just didn't seem to go into my stomach, it just sat on top and I felt very sick. In fact I was sick a lot. I felt so bad that I had to walk from mile 15....which was quite a long way as the 'marathon' was actually 28.5 miles. So it ended up being my longest and my further marathon by a long stretch. For the last few miles I was so looking forward to getting back to my tent and lying down. But when I got back to my tent I found that the wind had snapped some of the peg elastics, and bent the poles, so the tent was completely flattened
. There was no way I could fix it and my husband had gone off for a long walk whilst I was running so rather than having a nice lie down I packed all of our stuff and the tent back into the car and we drove home. On the plus side it meant that we didn't have to pack the tent away in the tipping rain which started in the early hours of Sunday, but I must admit I was wallowing in self-pity for the rest of Saturday.
In the end I only ran 15 miles (and walked 13.5!) so at least my legs aren't sore today. I think I probably didn't leave enough time between eating my breakfast and starting the run, but it is very frustrating.
We also tried THREE different T's on the way home and none stocked Happy Down.
I'll stop moaning now.0 -

Finally managed to locate a Timpson shop that does digital passport photos - all the other places seem to have shut down in my area. Anyway, they have confirmed they can give me a code or put the pics on a memory stick and say that they will get the photos verified in the shop online.
Still in a bit of a panic - from what everyone has said on here I assume that a code will be easiest and better ? Sorry to keep banging on about this.
DH done this . It was very easy and IMO well worth the £10 Saved my sanity
:rotfl:
Hope you have a lovely holiday when it comes around0 -
Morning all
I am waiting on the painter coming to give me an estimate for the decorating the bedrooms and hall stair etc
Will need to start saving my pennies again :rotfl: Dh used to do it but he has neither the time, inclination or ability because of his sore fingers
I need to look at curtains etc before the sales end completely
Oh and using the last of my AP's today :j:money:
Enjoy your day0 -
another new item on Q clicksnappy and on COS
- Maltsmiths Pils lager 330ml but only from Morrisons - its £1.75 with £1 cashback so a true price of 75p - not too bad an offer depending on your beer stocks
(in my case none apart from a few ciders)
I don't think everyone liked Maltsmiths last time and it was not easy to get hold of.
Looking at my COS accounts for July I bought, all from Sainsburys, the Arla milk 95p cashback, the Blue Diamond almonds for 75p cashback and the almond milk which was free £1.50 but that's about all (stoopwaffles freebie only lasted a day so I wanst quick enough) - the offers have been good enough if you actually use the products but otherwise very few freebies or near freebies - and no free beers for me.
So my account which I emptied in June still only has about £6 in it. My totals in Shoppix, shopprize, receipt hogg and epoints also too low and I am not expecting to cash out in August.
Thank goodness we have had a few nice bits from GJ“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
At least costa isn't a friday for once. I'm off with 2 kids to look after so it's perfect timing for me to treat them with Tesco hot chocs, costa cake, thorntons ice cream. :money:
Hi Can you tell me if there any Tesco cafe's locally about here I did google but it was not correct I am going to be out and about so may venture further afield this week0 -
