I thought these weren't necessary now with modern boilers?
I got rid of ours when the boiler was replaced plus we haven't got a gas fire?
    Is this correct?

    Morning peeps.
Extended bh in our house. :D

Landlord insists on having one, which is fair enough. It's a fairly new boiler so there shouldn't be any problems and the gas safety check was only about 6 weeks ago

thank you, looks like they got problems then. only ones that it recognised are ones without enough items. which i put through as a test of recognition.

APG is playing silly Bs again with not enough items :(. I know I should have got a few more, but I was in a rush and little A has fewer fillers to choose from.

Nothing major as it was ShopM, but 10% would have been a nice bonus (and spent a bit on fillers that I needn't have bothered with :o).

So which two items were missing (shop on 14/5)?
    A sp gravy 20p
    A porridge 75p
    A SP cheese slices 69p
    Kelloggs Granola £3.80
    A sp spaghetti 23p
    A sp sweetcorn 35p
    4 pint semi milk £1.09
    A apples 90p
    Loose banana 14p

    HTH

    Morning all

Why do carbon monoxide alarms choose the middle of the night to tell you they need replacing?
Because the temperature drops, and batteries are less productive the colder they get, so it will trigger the alarm for a low battery if it is near its end of life.

Not needed by law (unless renting possibly where the landlord should provide one), but still useful, and for a few quid, worth still having one as even new boilers can leak carbon monoxide.

Blimey, a sensible answer from DM ... :D.

Sound advice on the alarms though - always worth having them for peace of mind.

Our battery went the other week - again, in the middle of the night .

Just back from the funeral. The turnout was amazing The lady was my neighbour a few years ago. Well it turns out that those few years are actually 27 !!!!!! but we did keep in touch now and again.

It was lovely to see her family, nieces and nephews and how all the kids have grown up and are now parents in their own right

When diagnosed she made plans to ensure her hubby and son knew how to run the house without her, as always thinking of others before herself :A
