    Hi Savvy,

I was thanking you for taking the time to even think about it! I must say, I'd be happy with a £90 APG for a banana :).

Not if I had to fork out 930 quid for the banana in the first place.

At last, they have bought at the right time - or at least not too late. This shop was done yesterday, so may have changed by now: these particular Pringles were picking up M £1.25 price - now believed to have gone to £2 in M. I will now go to online to see if the price I got yesterday may be correct:rotfl:.

I suppose I'll be happy with only the nappies losing 2p - everything else comparing not 10% cheaper. M mbuy missed by the shopper on the Heinz Biscotti due to not buying enough and also buying one that doesn't compare.

9 items (8 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda morrisons
2x ASDA Get Zingy Shower Burst with Zesty Lime Extract (250ml) £0.66 N/A
    1x ASDA 2 Toffee Cheesecakes (2x100g) £1.00 N/A
    1x Pringles Texas BBQ Sauce Flavour (200g) £1.25 £1.25

Comparison total (compared products only) £25.99 £26.80
    cheaper +£0.81

:think:I wonder about those 2 pack cheesecakes - does M have some really at £1? Have I been done again? EDIT: No, apparently M's cheesecakes are a 3 pack according to online. I'll let them off:rotfl:.

Robinsons squash, this one and others, now on 4 for £3 mbuy in M but would need to have update first to stand any chance. Certainly won't work on a shop done yesterday - unless the mbuy went on in M before yesterday and all my stores were previously hiding it from me, in which (unlikely?) case it may work if most of the collection stores have been showing it.

I am wandering around in a virtual world doing my own thing as the Robinsons 1L squashes are showing £1 on m.com. Some prices instore are currently out of line with what it says online.

After apparently little change in prices on Monday, that may have enabled staff in M (and unintentionally myself afterwards) to catch up with many changes that had happened since Easter, it seems to be significant change again on Wednesday and I am back to chaos in my stores. People will not be able to see the chaos as the shelves are tidy and look quite well ordered. However, my four stores, taken together, were inadequate to inform me of the prices of about 30 outstanding items. This is quite a large number as sometimes I get down to about 4 or 5, of the items I would like to see, that I find no trace of my stores or I am still left wondering what the price is. Usually, in the past, I have been able to look at online if I was still in a bit of doubt after my stores to work out which way to fall - is the item on offer or full price? However with online clearly being out of line with some instore prices at the moment, I cannot say that the prices online are what items are instore. By the fourth store - but only by then - it was becoming clearer on some items what prices I might be settling on - however I was still in doubt on a significant number. I therefore visited a further two stores to try to resolve these items after already deciding upon which prices to ignore as seeming not have been changed (for example I still have offer labels on aisle ends and in other places of stores, but I think the stores haven't removed these labels yet and that the products are no longer on offer as the main SELs everywhere have been changed to full price - so I am using judgement about what labels to ignore and which to take notice of).

It has not been a difficult price collection, as it is easy enough for me to visit stores and to see what I see in them. So it's not hard to do. I visited the further stores - and I am still in doubt on some of the items. I nearly ended up with the offer price on one item but managed, at my sixth store, to scan the item and found it has now gone to full price. I had already snapped at my fourth store, and scanned the Tixylix Toddler Syrup on seeing yet another store displaying offer price despite online already showing full price on Monday. I found that it is on offer price instore. So, I was right to hedge my bets after Monday's collection and, despite online showing full price, go with the offer price still showing in both my stores (an inadequate number really but it was not a proper check). The product is offer price instore on Wednesday - and that will be why all but one of my stores is still showing offer price.

Some items that have only just been added to my list are now apparently back up in price in M. For example, the Kit Kat 9 packs that I have on the list as £1 seen on Monday are now, it quite strongly seems, £1.50 - although even there I couldn't get consistent £1.50 in every store I visited (had to settle for five stores at £1.50 and one at £2 across them all - never mind but those items are obviously not ones on which I am in any real doubt).

A significant number of offers in M were due to have ended by yesterday - so much so that I made a list and you can see on post 715 the items that were due to have ended. Many of them appear to have done so but some it seems haven't. I have concluded that the Muller Light Greek Yogurts (450g) have rolled over - we shall see if they still maintain their £1 price online, fwiw, later. I think the Flash sprays have probably continued as part of the Cleaning Event (despite the fact that at least one item on that event had already gone back to full price a week ago even though still in the event, and then showing full price, online - so the fact an item is continuing in the event does not show that it is still on the offer price - however I think, despite one of my stores giving some inadvertent misdirection and another not being of use, I am thinking their offer price has stayed on despite me previously having an expiry of 17th April on these items). I think the Felix 12x100g at £3 have continued, and very probably also the Dentastix products and Pedigree Rodeo etc. are containing at £5, although I think the Go Cat 375g is off. I think the 825g Whiskas are off - and seem to have settled on it now being just the 2Kg Whiskas still on (although there may be another pack size that I have at the same price that may be continuing too - I will need to see what I had before and what I have now and see if that has remained the same or whether there has been some change).

It seems there are other items that are off in the pet aisle - I don't usually have expiry dates for items that are not online so there are more items than just the ones that I had as due to expire on 17th April. With there apparently being significant change in this aisle, one of my stores appears to have taken the route of putting every SEL in the aisle to full price:( (apart from a couple of items showing an offer than my previous store has not put on display). This obviously was not of help. The word that I would use to describe doing this is "lazy". Whilst changing all the SELs to full price is a significant amount of work, it is probably less than actually finding the prices of the items and putting the correct prices on each one. I think the store has decided to take the 'shortcut' (whether it actually is or is not) of putting the items to full price and then I think they will start with the aisle afresh and put the items that are on offer onto offer SELs later. They've possibly decided, with so many changes, it is easier to do that than to change everything to the correct prices from the outset. However, it is of no help to me in the meantime seeing full price on nearly the entire aisle with the possibility that some of the items may indeed have ended on offer and gone to full price and it being unclear what it still or now on offer. With me having this extra store showing full price, I then have one other store that has also changed a couple of items to full price (or else never had the offer SEL on in the first place) and, despite having more others still showing the offer prices, it makes me wonder whether the items have in fact changed. There are showing offer price online although I will also keep an eye to see if that changes soon as online may not yet been updated.

I think the Colgate 360 Max White One Toothbrush may still be on and the Impulse Body Sprays have clearly changed from any 2 for £1.80 to straight £1. The baby foods that I had due to be off are now off it seems and, even though I still have them at £1 in M, I shall remove the Heinz products that should have glitched yesterday as no point it seems to me now obtaining them for straight 10% cheaper.

The Jacob's Mini Cheddars seem to be off and it seems the offer has now moved onto some Crispy Thins and Crinkly versions instead. I did look at those in each store I visited although that was not primarily because of doubt about whether they were on or off but rather I wanted to try to attempt to have every version that M has. My stores are consistent at least on those.

The Walkers standard 6 pack crisps are now showing £1.50 on m.com. However, I am going with £1 on all of those that M has - although it could be my turn to have an incorrect price on crisps. (Just after Easter, the APG had what seemed to me to be an incorrect price on other crisps - I had full price but the system was still picking up M offer price, probably due to collection stores not changing their SELs soon enough.) After five stores all showing £1, and just one having £1.50 on the shelf stock, I am going with £1 although it could be wrong. The McCoys crisps had been showing £1 for the last several weeks in all but one store for me and I've kept them on at £1 even though online has had full price. There are, it seems, clearly some items running to a different schedule instore than the prices showing online. My one store has now joined the others in showing £1 - and I notice online has also changed to £1 on McCoys crisps. Despite online now showing £1.50 on Walkers crisps, which is the price I have on the shelf in one store, I could however have five stores all of which have not yet got round to changing the SELs on the Walkers Crisps.

As regards taking five stores at £1 but online already says £1.50 and one of my stores does have £1.50, suggesting that perhaps all the five have not yet changed their SELs and the items really are £1.50, I did have a similar situation with some Tuc Crackers a few weeks ago. They were due to end on 50p offer and online went to £1 - at that time, I did have most of my stores continuing to show 50p but one of them had gone to £1 SEL. However, I scanned the product instore back then and it did scan at 50p. The offer was rolled over instore and I believe it continues to be still on now. The APG has been seen at some time during this period (when online was showing £1) comparing against M at 50p. M.com has since changed back to 50p and is currently showing a 50p offer as until 26th April but I believe the offer never ended instore and the items continued at 50p for longer, a price on which they now appear to remain.

On one item, which is not online for M, except of course currently on my own list, I came across a full price SEL for it after having two stores still showing offer (and it was early in the day so possibly they had not yet changed when they should have done). A store in between did not have the item and my further two stores did not have this range. I have decided the item is more probably still on offer as the store where I have now seen full price has probably had full price showing all along and hasn't shown the offer that my other stores that have it have. In addition, it's got the offers on other items that the other two haven't been showing that I think are clearly still on. However, I think the store only has the offers showing on those because it showed them during the last offer and never changed to showing full price during the period when the offer was off - I think it left the offer SELs unchanged for so long that the offer came back on and has obviously kept them unchanged at the current offer price ever since. As it doesn't appear to have changed any SELs in this section, I think this is more likely to support it showing incorrect full price for an item that has gone onto offer but offer price never been put on display in this store, rather than the offer showing in other stores earlier in the day having ended. I think it's more likely there's been no change and the item is still on offer price. With things like this this time, I could well have some incorrect prices and can't say whether some items are on offer or are not as my stores' SELs are finely balanced. We will never know, and whether the APG agrees with me or does not, based on its stores' SELs, we will not know whether the APG is correct and me wrong or the other way around or whether both me and the APG have the correct price for M or whether both me and it are wrong. However overall I think I have got a general idea of the way things seem to have gone with changes or not in M. Generally I've got items that seem to be off and know what seems to be on as new but it's just a few items on which I am still in doubt.

So, I will do what I usually do and take the information, throw it in the air and see which way my prices land as there are items with near half and half splits on prices for me between offer and full price and not sure which of the prices it is. There's also some differences, that may now be usefully mentioned, in the way I collect prices and the APG does. With the APG, it has to have at least half of its stores that have an item putting an offer price on display for that to be picked up. Whereas myself, if it is a new offer, I only need one store to alert me to it even if all my other stores, at that point, are still showing full price. Sometimes, when offers start it is more clear, if one store then starts showing an offer price. I can then be immediately satisfied, without having to check further stores, that this is a new offer. However the APG has to have half its stores with the item to change - so it can be behind me and can still get full price until enough time for stores to change their SELs to display the new offer. This is especially so on the day the new offer price started and the APG collectors seem to be collecting early in the day so their stores may still be more likely to show full price. It's also the case that, if I become fairly satisfied what price an item is, or end up scanning it and discovering its true price, at least at the store I which I scan it, part way through my store visits, I then end up with the price I am 'happy' about and I do not check further stores. Otherwise I would be checking every item in every store and I could not have time to do six full store price collections in one day - sensibly therefore it's only the outstanding items I am not happy about or would like to see a further view on the price (and a further one and a further one...) that I check in further stores. This can mean I have my price based only on one or two stores, but I am satisfied about that price. Whereas the APG has all its stores in which the collectors find an item and subject to all the differences between SELs in each that could tip the balance towards or away from the true price. It should in general get the correct price - however it could be it ends up with half on full price and half on offer and then only just gets the offer.

I think, if I had checked my stores in a different order, and got the item with full price at my first store and then checked the others are saw offer price in both, I would have probably taken the item to be the offer price having more stores at that stage showing it rather than suggesting the offer has ended and probably started off with an incorrect full price SEL. However, because I started with the offers and then later saw a full price somewhere, I am then thinking whether it may have changed to full price but then concluding, rightly or wrongly, that it is most probably still on offer. I can be influenced sometimes by the way in which things are presented (:eek:not like me I know:rotfl:). I am only human. Separately, I have also realised that I didn't consciously notice the price of Salad Cress in M this time. I had it as 30p on Monday. Therefore, I have done even worse on this collection than I did on Monday, which wasn't supposed to be a good collection:rotfl:. I think it will most probably be 30p (so A more than 10% cheaper - and it usually does compare nowadays, typically one might say) because had it changed to some lower price, I think I would almost certainly have noticed it. Anyway I have, I think, done very well as usual and got more than what I thought I had() and just the same few items at the end that checking further and further still leaves me not knowing (unfortunately I can't keep scanning everything without being noticed). So, I am probably correct but just the possibility I could on rare occasion be wrong due to my conclusion from my SELs taking the wrong of the two options. I shall also see if online changes from what it is currently on these items (where it has them) to indicate whether there was a change or not - even though I can't assume it has the instore prices as at least one item has a different price instore to what is showing online (and judging from SELs everywhere for me only items too are on offer instore that are on full price online, although that could be, perhaps less likely, incorrect SELs in every one of my stores).

I do think there was some variance on the prices on some razors between instore and online prices when I later had a "Previous price applied between..." notice on a SEL instore which clearly suggested a time it was full price instore even though online had had offer price - I had scanned the product and disagreed with online as a result. And, despite full price online, I had Gillette Blue 3 Disposable Razors 4 showing me offer in enough stores to put them on offer on my list last time. Only for my stores now to be full price SEL. Perhaps my stores were late in changing SELs when the items really were full price last time but there did seem to be a new offer price SEL. I am now taking it that the product is full price, which is now consistent with online. I haven't scaned it instore to see that it is - as I am fed up of scanning Gillette Blue 3 razors as I often have half my stores showing offer and half showing full price regardless of which way the prices are going. I am just going to fall in line with online this time and take them off.

Two stores for me have clearly changed from showing £2 on Monday (with a "Previous higher price between" ending sometime in March, which is helpful as a guide to perhaps a £2 offer has started at some time after the last date mentioned) to showing £3.93 on Wednesday - so, clearly, it does seem they are £3.93 now. One saying £3.93 is no guide as it said that on Monday when my two stores both had £2 showing and, judging by the Tuc Crackers, McCoys crisps before and potentially Walkers 6 now, that have online showing full price but offers apparently rolled over instore, they could have been still on offer instore on Monday - but they do seem to have gone to full price there now. Two stores having changed on this one for me - I think they are now full price. Even though I also get at other times stores changing to full price even when offers remain on (that some stores do continue to show - but these are also points at which the APG tends to get incorrect full price and I tend to scan or look at online and see an item is still on offer price. So, I could be going to full price in error, with two stores having changed for me, but it seems unlikely to pick up offer on the APG - they usually get full price when some of my stores have changed - I also don't have £2 offer showing elsewhere for me now, just £3.93 full price and online says that, even though it is out of line with instore on at least some items).

The Salad Cress that I mentioned has turned up on a receipt from this morning.

17 items (11 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda morrisons

    1x ASDA Grower's Selection Cucumber Portion (each) £0.35 £0.25
    1x Bernard Matthews Turkey Breast Slices (100g) £1.00 N/A:think:
Comparison total (compared products only) £18.06 £19.61
    cheaper +£1.55

Comparing against M at 30p each. However, this doesn't show that it was this price on Wednesday as this might not be updated to Wednesday yet (in any event, nothing ever shows anything as they and I could have an incorrect price on SELs - so basically they could really be any price at all but I believe them to be 30p).

    Should be vs T:
    2x ASDA Grower's Selection Salad Cress (each) £0.48 £0.48

No need to buy two:rotfl:. Sains did have a 3 for 2 offer ages and ages ago that worked out better per pack - and did not compare from A as there were different prices in the offer IIRC so had to buy in S to get the price - ever since which 24p per pack has been way too dear for me:rotfl:. We have not seen anything like that offer ever since. I suppose whoopsies are cheaper.

Actually the Turkey might be a good thing if it has failed to compare - some 100g BM cooked meats, I do not know Turkey off-hand, are I think on 2 for £2 in M - so much more expensive if one pack is bought.

tldr receive working tax credits(on the day you open account only), pay and leave in £50pm get £600 bonus end of y2 and again end of y4

I am very impressed with this scheme and I hope it has a huge take up - the old saving ethos seems to have dwindled away.

I think its a case of getting into everyones head that saving is not an optional thing you might or might not do at the end of the pay month - instead its an obligation to be paid at the start of the month the same as any other bill.
The bonus at the end of year 2 is a good incentive - typically though families on working tax credit live quite near the knuckle, jobs come and go, circumstances change, often in rentals so it could be quite a challenge.

I rattle onto errant son about how important it is to have a cushion of money to keep you going in hard times and when unexpected bills come along - we are a prime example. I think this is month 7 now of having unexpected unplanned bills every month - numerous extra car repair bills, 3 trips to the vets etc ...

I just wonder if some of it is a govt plan to save money. Savings for those with an unreliable income may just mean they miss out on benefits when income is low as they are expected to run down savings first. Probably not the thread for this discussion. We just look at it as free 2400. I wonder if it is considered as income when the bonus is paid as if it is 41% will immediately be clawed back.....
    I think....
