loads of different bars work out the same v various stores
may change in the morning
I notice they are 200g each, so they are slightly more worthwhile. However this is one that, of necessity, I will now have to miss. I had already left before your reply and, with me being out and incommunicado at M all day, have only returned this evening to this. I am sure I am can manage without chocolate:rotfl:. :idea:I'll have the chocolate Easter eggs as my chocolate:cool:. Mine have gone payable as well (that was extremely easy, after spending up to half an hour trying to get the scanner to work), so hopefully they will be better than free:money:.
I have visited the limited set of Ms that I had planned to visit today. Regarding visiting them (as opposed to working out the prices in them), it was fine all day and I arrived as planned at my final store. I had just finished at the store and the weather was starting to set in. The journey back was largely problem-free, although it ran into the start of rush hour and I had to take a slight detour near my home as ungritted roads uphill would have been impossible. I had to go down, get stuck in a traffic queue on the main road for several minutes:mad: and then take the gritted road turn to get back home. It was to have been a busy day today, as my family had wanted an evening meal tonight. However, although I had been travelling into rush hour and therefore a little more difficult, I wasn't going to go back out in that so we are now staying here and keeping warm. I certainly won't be going out to Asda for the sake of some chocolate - I've been out to Asda in better rainy and snowy weather than we have now and that has been a difficult enough journey and then getting soaked for no reason at the car park.
There has been some change in M today. I still have update on top of update to do this time. There are quite a few baby food items on RTC in M btw, that were there on Monday but have not yet reached the list as the APG was still stuck on last Wednesday. To avoid confusion therefore, I had updated a few to new prices (the Organix that have gone down - RTC £1.50 to £1) where they are buys in M but left the Avs M potentials not updated. I have at least a couple more today and all of them will be added to the list in due course. This is just to flag up the RTCs on baby food in M. Elsewhere, M have it seems switched the Vimtos on offer from 1L to 2L, the offers have gone from Flash Gel 400ml to 885ml (which, being rather more than twice the volume, should work out a little better - but that will need waiting on the APG for the system to update first) and I had thought the Dentalife dog chews had switched around - gone back from the larger packs to the smaller ones that don't work out as well.
Or maybe both sets are on now:mad:. The larger packs are still showing the £2.50 price online - but I have an even higher full price from my stores. Tell you what, given that they have been vs potential £2.50 at S, I am going to take them off the M list. I was having problems with these last time, with only one of my stores showing the £2.50 price and all others have gone to full price even though one of them at least was scanning still at £2.50 on Monday. My store that was the only one to show the 'offer' last time has now switched to full price. I know online still says £2.50 but perhaps that will soon change or perhaps it will not - but I have a completely separate item that was and is still showing £1.50 online but has scanned instore at £1.
Regarding the prices showing in my stores, I think it's been one of the worst set of conflicts between SELs in different stores that I've had. Perhaps it is just a few items over which I am having a lot more variance than usual. With today being a price changeover, it seems I have found my stores in disarray. I have already concluded last time that it was the Garlic Baguette Slices that were on the £1 offer and the Twin Baguettes on full price. It didn't help that I have one store that has an offer showing on one of the Twin Baguettes and the Baguette Slices showing full price. I think they are wrong on both counts! I think they have both left up the offer on the Garlic Baguette that has expired and not yet put the offer on the Baguette Slices that I still think are on offer. My other three stores are causing me to come to the general conclusion that it is the Slices on offer and the Twin Baguettes are now full price.
For some time I had a suggestion that the Curly Fries were no longer on £2 offer. All was fine in my first store: £2 yellow offer label showing, I didn't doubt it and didn't have the item to query at the next store. It should have been settled at that point. I get to the next store however and, in addition to my queries, I now notice the Curly Fries have no price label (maybe it was too early in the day in my first store and they hadn't changed the price label yet?). So, does the lack of price label mean a price change or not? Instead of resolving queries, the second store leaves me with more outstanding than what I had before:mad:(:rotfl:). I now take the Curly Fries to the next store and... full price SEL showing. Maybe they are full price and not the £2 I had at the first store. I still have a tie however - one £2 and one full price (maybe a three-way tie:D:( as no label in the other place) so I am still querying the item and it goes to the next store. Fourth and final (this time) attempt: no price:mad::(:rotfl::(. So, does the absent price label mean this product is now full price? At this stage, I have to scan the product and I found it is still £2.
The Lyclear shampoo, I had a problem with that. No Lyclear shampoo at my first store last time:(. Second store, hooray I've got Lyclear Sensitive with £10 SEL... but not the other Lyclear:(. I had to find it elsewhere. This time, I've got the Lyclear Sensitive £10 at my first store. The other Lyclear has now arrived and is showing "New" on the label, with full price SEL:(. Well, fine, my second store had both last time. Just take the non-sensitive Lyclear to there and it'll have the £10 price I need to see! Second store - just Lyclear Sensitive and no other Lyclear:(. "I am in potential trouble now," I think, "as my other stores didn't have this Lyclear last time."
Fortunately I was in luck - sort of:(. One of my next stores did have the Lyclears, again £10 on the Sensitive one... but showing full price £14 on the other:(:(. My last store this time "definitely" won't have the Lyclear (I was right) - so I had to scan the "£14" SEL one and... indeed it is £10. You would never tell from my stores that there was an offer on this product:(. In fact I think I've only got the £10 from an earlier store last time that was elsewhere - my nearby stores wouldn't have given me any clue.
Neither would they have been any good on the McCain Bombay Wedges - which are online but, due to my problems in my stores, had only made it to TBG vs M list last time. Well - I am now pulling the item off again:(. I have been trying to find whether the £1 price on this product was an RTC or not. Online does not state such things and it is significant for TBG as, if it is RTC, it should not be compared. My stores, where they have had this product, have been giving me £2 SELs. I have had to scan the item to confirm that it is the £1 that has been online - and it came up with "Reduction" on the screen when I did, so I initially thought it was RTC. I eventually found a £1 offer label, not RTC, at a more distant store. Therefore I have added it to TBG.
I would have hoped that one of my stores, that had no SEL last time, would have put a SEL up this time. However, still no SEL so perhaps the price remains unchanged? The product now turns up at another store, where I have not had it before, but now showing £2 price there:(.:(:(I had hoped I would find a £1 offer price in a store where it's not been before. As a result, I had to scan it - and sadly it has gone to £2 now:(. So it will now be taken off the list almost as soon as it (finally) got onto the right part of it.
I think Marston's Pedigree (500ml) and Old Golden Hen (500ml) are off - were £1 but now onto £1.65 and 4 for £6 - but again I shall see from online whether I may have reached a correct conclusion on that. Except that online is clearly not the correct store price on at least one different item. I have other 500ml alcohols on £1 price now, that I was picking up from the shelf of my second store with 4 for £6 SEL across them all (guess what? I didn't trust the £1 labelling in the first store:rotfl:) and having them scanned at the till at £1. I am very low on stock on Marston's Pedigree - but my last store did provide a 4 for £6 SEL, instead of the "£1 and no stock" that I didn't trust that I got in between. So I think it is off, along with, I am implying (I didn't even find!), the Old Golden Hen from last week. I did have 4 for £6 on that in the store that had 4 for £6 on the others that were still £1 but it wasn't one of the ones I scanned. I thought that I would find it in a later store, with £1 label if it still was. However, I had no trace but I did find Marston's Pedigree, showing 4 for £6, so, as that one seems to be off - and this is tricky as it doesn't always follow this way - I bet they are both off now and offers onto other products. The Mulled Hen Festive (wasn't one of these as it is £1 RTC) - no SEL now in first store and only other place I have it, it has arrived with "New" and full price label - is still £1:rotfl:!
Huggies Pure Wipes 10x56 are £5. I have been trying to find out whether M still have Huggies Natural Wipes 10x56, but have not been able to find them so, as far as I know, it is just Huggies Pure although it's possible M has Natural elsewhere. I had £10 SEL in my main aisle of my second store ("should still be £5 as was showing in my first store though", I thought, "as it has only gone onto £5 offer on Monday"). I did check it at the SS as I had that £10 label in the aisle - and found it was £5. Only to find that there was stock on the aisle end, with the £5 SEL, that I hadn't seen before I had it scanned:rotfl:. My other two stores had £10:rotfl:. So, at that point, I would have had to have scanned it anyway.
That - is just items that are probably irrelevant to the APG/the TBG as just some of the problems in my stores and could be different elsewhere. I just seem to have more conflicting price displays this time. They could just put any prices at all on the shelves and the products could be any price.
With this amount of conflicts - maybe they just affect a small number of items but ones that are more prominent for me this time? - it could be anyone's guess what the real prices are (where items remain unscanned) but I shall use them and my knowledge and, hopefully, be closer to weighing up what the actual prices are this time.
So I won't be getting any chocolate. I can stay here now and batten down the hatches, update the list over the next days, keep warm and we have enough supplies of essentials to last:cool:.0 -
