    Good morning all

MKS glad you enjoyed scattering the ashes day as far as is possible Its nice they are together

    Happy birthday fourp

Snap So glad you sister is home and that the son has upped his game

I seldom get annoyed about anything but was debating with DH and morning TV who is responsible for top athletes when they retire To me everyone should be advised of the changes they face but it is the persons responsibility They kept reiterating the lack of personal interaction/ and teamwork when they retired

I know we all face that from the most basic jobs on the market to the top flight we all play a part in the team Pity my director did not see that as only the sales staff matter He could not see the producers or dispatchers Clearly I am still not over his comments :rotfl:

    Enjoy your day
Oh Mrs, bet he's missing you, those sales mean nowt if there is nothing to sell, nothing dispatched or no invoices.

    You'll get there.

Is your house a funny shape, or something like a conservatory somewhere? Could be they would need to use scaffolding and that company don't do so? Try a small local Independant company?

Not a funny shape, but the front is quite fancy and lots of small runs and corners to go round, sides and back just standard. It may need scaffolding, but there was no mention of that, so don't know - but he uses scaffolding all the time for new roofs ( I was prepared for the cost of that). No conservatory to get round.
Just so difficult to get the right people and I am such a worrier, the smallest thing worries me.

That black cloud that was thrust over me has gone :j. I made a choice and I’m sure I’ve gone the right way :D

I’ve been supporting two ladies from low income families, one is on the verge of losing her home due to husbands contract change. I never usually see them here at home but as I had been bad with arthritic pain blah blah.

I saw First Lady in morning, second lady just after lunch. While we were chatting this so called friend turned up asking for contact details of an organisation I used to work for.

Anyway, I’m getting hot under the collar as she knew what I was doing that day and she shouldn’t have interrupted. While I’m looking for the info her loud voice boomed out asking if I’d go with her to view a house adding this will be her 5th buy to let

Talk about rubbing it in, poor lady I was seeing was in floods of tears, I’m trying to hold my anger in. I took so called friend to the door and whispered to her never to come here bragging when she knows there’s someone here having a tough time.

My decision is to carry on with the support, if lady will have me. I don’t need tackless friends like that.

    And breath ...........
Oh couldn't you just hit them!!
Good for you for your support work, as well as practical stuff people often need an unbiased 'friend' to listen and guide.

I'm waiting for British Gas to come and replace my gas meter because it died. Apparently I'm joining the smart meter revolution. I was only saying to MG the other day that we needed to start keeping an eye on what we were using, now it looks like I'll be able to watch and count exactly what he uses :rotfl:

Snap, give fourup a hug from us

    :bdaycake:

AJ, I always think people who brag do so because they lack confidence and self esteem.... there is a reason your friend acted the way she did and when she did... Lots of maybes spring to mind. x

Sorry you were placed in this predicament when just trying to help people in need, you are an :A . What a totally insensitive friend.

I've had a rubbish few days, really low, but nothing I'm not use to, just have to see it through until things improve.
Suppose I'm a bit upset new Compassionate Based Therapy is two thirds through and doesn't seem to be helping. It's meant to make me feel kinder to myself - not easy.

Had company round to quote for new softs/barge boards/guttering. Same as did Mum's new roof and all her softs etc. Owner James would not give me a quote :( Said my house was really complicated and would take at least 3 men 5 days or longer and would be really expensive.
Asked for a quote anyway, just to get an idea, but he's not sent it.
Suggested it would be better to get a firm that did windows and softs together, as I also need windows.

How can it be too complicated when he does huge roofs and extensions and conversions ?

OMG SS... do you live in a castle. 15 days of labour is :eek::eek: They could re-roof the house, do the gutters/boards, and replace the windows within that period of time.

I thought you were swearing and the thread was editing you :rotfl::rotfl:

Much more interesting that what was actually happening :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. As I said, it happened when I edited a post on the iphone. I think I shall just remember not to edit rather than turn off smart punctuation as Apple will fix it before too long.
