I had a dream last night that I went to a garden centre with Snap, Sarahdol and hornet girl and when we got there there were some allotments, one belonged to locarr, one to dizzy ditzy and one to a dad who cannot be named :rotfl:.......love thy neighbour:eek:

the idea of this is absolutely hilarious...add it to Snap's picture of kermit and Fozzie....and I'm sat here with tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks.....

    morning all,
Grey and dismal here today :(
Gosh RL takes over I don't get time to come on here and post, I don't know how with many of who are busier than me and work full time get the time to keep up to date with the elite family...it just shows I must be very disorganised:eek:
...It doesn't help now DH has retired and under my feet all the time, I cant get on and I don't have 'me' time but early days yet, it takes a lot of readjusting ..but we will get there. ...
then hopefully by then everything in the hillbern household will have quietened down:)

This is what worries me about my Oh retiring - hopefully a good few years off yet but you cant always plan these things.
I am hoping that he will do it gradually, maybe job share or do fewer hours so we have time to adjust - I am dreading it really.
At weekends it seems like breakfast is long and drawn out so everyone is in and out of the kitchen making a mess and then when everything is finally straight again, 3 hours later everyone is having lunch and it all starts again. Everything else has to be slotted between meals so it all has to be quick easy non complicated jobs and the house is never totally straight and tidy
    .
Days like today are far better - everyone has been at work since 7, the house has been tidy since 9 and will stay that way all day, so I can get on as I've got a big job to tackle (which I am supposed to be tackling now but I got distracted :) ) The big job I will just keep doing until its finished so breakfast might be at lunch time and it has already incidentally lead onto several small side jobs which were not on the agenda today eg freecycle listing and filling bags for the food bank and the charity shop.
I also think I do my best thinking and forward planning when the house is quiet, there are no interruptions.

With OH around I am constantly trying to think of ways to keep him active, entertained and amused - when in reality he would rather be asleep on the sofa :(
I think summers will be OK, when and if the weather is good as we can just disappear off for days out but the winter months will be long and dire.
Many OHs have hobbies that keep them fully occupied in their spare time- golf, football, DIY ... but my OH his interests are also his work and his life so when work stops what is there to take its place - there are 40 extra hours to fill a week.
At one time last year I was in full nagging mode saying that he had to start making plans as to what was to fill those 40 hours a week but it was very much like having a discussion with a brick wall so I stopped. He is an adult after all and he has to make these decisions himself.
I think he thinks retirement will be like every day is Sunday - get up, feed cats, fill the coal bucket for later, make tea, get a museli bar to eat, back on the sofa an hour after getting up, stay there until I've sorted everything else out and its time to go out

Anyway, all in the future ...
“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”

How many moons does the earth have (tough)?

The tough made me assume it was a trick question and the earth and moon have been described as a double-planetary system because their relative sizes are so close hence the earth has a sister planet not a moon. Score 0 marks for over-thinking.
