Good morning all, lovely blue sky, very little frost around today despite it being -1.1

Hoping to marzipan the Christmas cake today, so long as I can get some apricot jam. Was going to do it yesterday but forgot I used that jam up last year. Still, managed to cover the board yesterday - why do people buy new cake boards every year? I simply have a round wooden board with a lazy susan thingy underneath, and I cover that with foil each year!

I use marmalade instead of apricot jam. I always have marmalade in whereas I'd need to buy apricot jam and I'm not doing that :rotfl:

But our marmalade is thick sliced lol.

I have to go to Lidl later anyway, I use the jam then put it in the back of the cupboard, it lasts about 5 years :rotfl::rotfl:

It goes against everything, I never buy jam as I always make my own, but the ones I make are just too strongly flavoured to do this, even if I was willing to sieve them :rotfl::rotfl:

You poor love, hope your chat goes well .... sometimes little things, stuff that makes no sense can take you off- course

    Thank you all....

I just don't know where to begin...but I know I need to nip this in the bud now before it escalates much further....so I am going back to the wonderful group that have helped me over the last 5 years or so.
I bet they think I must turn up like a bad penny....but this time the subject of my angst hasn't even departed yet!!!!

There is a lot of anger and resentment brewing on both sides now between my friend and I and it almost feels as if we are dealing with the bitter breakup that we should have had 27 years ago...but chose to walk away as friends.
I don't want this, I don't believe he truly needs this now but he seems intent on making sure I'm hurt.

  • Does anyone else have a mare of a time ordering new Nectar cards off the website? Twice I have tried to order new card, each time I have had a couple of goes at filling in the form on the website, and each time I have ended up on live chat after a few weeks.

You don't need this on top of everything else. Breaking up with a friend can feel like a bereavement, you are feeling sorry for him and not letting yourself feel sorry for yourself. If this is your friend who is ill, then you are probably trying to avoid hurting him and taking everything he throws at you. Going and talking somewhere you know that you can let everything go is a good idea, you have to let it out. I hope it works for you xx
