The impression I have is of a much more expensive Morrisons today than it was last week. I don't know whether that's true though - if it is, some could say it was trying to cash in the week before Christmas, although I cannot possibly allege that it is. Possibly, as usual, it's about the same - for items now on offer, other products are being charged much more expensively than last week. As mentioned before, for items that have been on somewhat better offer than usual, it seems they sometimes go to a much more expensive price than they were before afterwards as if to make up for and pay for the period when they were on better-than-usual offer. It just seems. Again, it is possibly not the case - I am thinking of the 1L alcohol bottles that are now £18 - however, they have been that before. Therefore, it is last chance for now on many of the 1L alcohol bottles at A vs £15 M as I think they are all £18 now.
I don't know whether it is true to say that M is, overall, more expensive than it was last week. Clearly there are items that have gone onto offer, that are therefore cheaper now in M than they were, in M, last week. The trouble is that, of some of them, we already have better prices elsewhere even if on the same type of product but not the same variety - for example M at 50p each but wanting you to buy threefold to get 3 for £1. We already have White Potatoes 2.5Kg in T, or A vs T, at 29p and Sprouts 500g, 1Kg Carrots and Parsnips 600g at 28p each in Aldi. I have only taken the details of ones that aren't on those sorts of prices elsewhere, unless anyone has to have specifically Maris Piper Potatoes and no other type of potatoes? I think they are for some people that see three different products and think, which is true, they can have all three for £1. However, some of them are individually cheaper elsewhere (obviously not the specific M products as those are exclusive to M, but what we may see as the own label equivalents of other supermarkets for example).
I think I am thinking items are more expensive because I have been looking specifically for items whose offers were expected to have ended yesterday and finding that the SELs for those I have are now much more expensive - the Actimel Kids products at £1 last week, now showing £2, then seeing the Oykos yogurts at £2, and not just the two Quorn chilled products but also the two frozen and the couple of Linda McCartney products all full price too.
There are items now on Christmas reductions - and I don't mean boxes of chocolates that were already on what M have been, and still are, calling "Christmas reductions" that are still several pounds last week and this - I mean things such as decoration-type things, ornamental things, don't really know what to call them:rotfl: - now at 75p each. Clearly, there are several items cheaper than last week in that section. However, the 25p off on one of those would be very much outweighed by £3 extra on a 1L alcohol bottle.0 -
