You'll need to ask them.
I did, but then my mortgage was taken out in 1998 and they may well have changed their terms.
What's the big deal about opening an account?
I don't mind opening an account with them, hopefully wouldn't have to change all my direct debits as I do like Halifax0 -
I have currently applied for First Direct remortgage and have an AIP. Their mortgage adviser told me there is no need to open a current account to have a mortgage with them, they also donot have any preferential rates for customers either. I'm with Santander 123 and still keeping them.0

Since I made my post earlier, I’ve just logged into the FD banking app and it does actually have your outstanding mortgage balance in there now. Well there you go.0

Guess you have an offset mortgage? I was told it’s not available for fixed rate mortgages.0 -
I'm on a fixed rate mortgage and the loan is now showing too. Balances for fixed rates were always 'coming soon'. Looks like it launched today.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0

Oooh, that's great to hear! I don't have the banking app...is it something you can use if you only have a mortgage with them, or do you need a bank account to have the app? We may even consider 'switching' if they have a good offer on their current account anyone, I suppose!0

This is good to know, i will open a current account when my mortgage starts to have a bit of motivation to pay off balance on my 5 yr fix.0 -
very excited to discover that I can now see our mortgage.

I have an offset Mortgage with First D. I've only ever had to call them about twice (once today) and they were so helpful, friendly and sorted out my questions straight away.
Great customer service.0
