I have £585 ear marked this month for the extra payment on the barclays CC , i put the extra £27 i had left after aldi into my savings for the car maintenance etc i will hang onto the £585 until later in the month as i have already paid the min payment on it , it feels weird and good not to have to pay the other 3 this month and only have 2 payments to make on debt! for me anyway i will get to dh 2 cards after mine are cleared.

Feeling low today and was awake from 3am worrying, everytime i raise money with my husband he rolls his eyes etc yesterday i tried to arrange a time when we could discuss the budget but he just snapped back " all you ever talk about is money" which is simply not true, i am the one writing out his budget and trying to get him to stick to it and i am the one sacrificing everything to try and pay the extra to the debts, i havent included his two CC in my signature as i am focusing on mine first , although the virgin one is his over draft, i know they are our debts regardless, he has another 2 cards, one has £6000 on and the other nearly £10k, i cant face those yet or have them in my signature until these ones are cleared, that should be the summer due to my getting extra hours at work and my son repaying me for a computer i bought for him , i dont know what to do , now i cant raise the budget with husband otherwise he snaps my head off and goes into a mood , he wont listen to me.

  • Don't get discouraged- you're doing well. Keep going. Difficult situation to be in.
He's just not seeing the benefits of reducing the debts yet is he. So that's his issue, not yours.
Just focus on the things you can do and achieve. It's a long journey ahead of you.
    On a mission!

I am sorry that you are feeling bad. I don't think your husband quite realises what you are sacrificing. Mine is EXACTLY the same, so I 100% feel your pain. As soon as I talk about money, he just goes 'mmmhmmm' and does not commit to anything. In his opinion, 'everyone has debt, we are paying ours, what is the problem?' So frustrating! Just plough on the way you are. You are doing great. Don't even think about his credit cards - they are HIS after all. If he doesn't want to combine finances, don't touch his.
