  • Thanks for all the replies, I will raise it further with the solicitor and see what they say about it. What is strange is that it wasn't in the surveyor's main concerns in the conclusion of the report.

    To building control. The insurers are presuming that the council know nothing about it - obviously they'd be rather more likely to take action if someone has just tipped them off.
