Help please, advice on getting best value from Nectar points

Had a Nectar card for years, collect points mainly from sainsbury's on shopping and petrol, use them now and then for a 'free' trolley full of shopping.

BUT, we have now amassed 14,400 points. I would usually save these up for the xmas splurge at sainsbugs, but see that I can get bits/games for the Wii we are buying for xmas on the nectar site.
e.g. Wii play will cost us about £34 in the shops, or can get it for 6000 nectar points.

How do I work out which is the best way to get value from my nedctar points
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I would look at the nectar partner stores to see if the items you were thinking of getting from Christmas are on those websites and then make the decision from there. Its difficult, but you can get better value spending your points in the partner stores than just buying shopping but you need to make sure first. Good luck

I save mine for Debenhams blue cross sales- they can have 70% off ,one on now and probably again in the new year.you have to order the vouchers from nectar.Takes 2 or 3 weeks to arrive.

I find there can be some good bargains there on stuff for the home (maybe not what you want)

Straight off, your points are worth about £77 quid-but eg if you buy stuff thats half price £150 quid etc etc

Also depending on how long you've got to wait, but nectar do these special deals every now and then where cds, dvds and other electricals are half price, eg cd + 1500 would then be 750 when on offer. They've done 2 or 3 this year so may be another one soon. Also cds have 25% off at the minute too (making them around 1100 points)and I think some electrical stuff is too. Personally I htink this is the best way to get value for money and this is the way I spend mine, but Im in no hurry and tend to wait for the half price weeks.
