The last of my pack of 4 bayonets has just gone. Meanwhile my "old" bulbs are still going strong. The Philips Halogen Classic range offers familiar light bulb shapes with a sparkling, natural, dimmable light. With a lifetime that is twice that of incandescent bulbs, Halogen Classic halogen bulbs have all your home lighting needs covered.
This lamp lasts twice as long as a standard bulb. So it replaces two lamps, for lower cost and less hassle. The lifetime is based on the average usage of 2.7 hrs per day or 1000 hrs a year.
IMHO even though they use 28W as opposed to 40W, they are a very expensive replacement.
Any suggestions for dimmable LED standard bayonets? Does the dimmer switch need replacing?

Several manufacturers produce standard BC dimmable LED candle bulbs - Philips and LG to name two.
You will probably need to change the dimmer control because many dimmers expect a minimum wattage of around 40W to operate correctly. I had 5 x 40W standard bulbs in my living-room on a dimmer and when they were replaced by 6W LED bulbs the dimmer did not function.

My old dimmers are coping well with various philips dimmable LED bulbs despite not meeting the minimum load - and I've been using some of them for years. I think you'd have to try it and see. Actual LED dimmers I've found so far are expensive and I can't seem to find any inline one for table lamps at all. So, my old ones will have to do. Seem to work fine though.0

I use lightwave RF to control my lighting and the Kosnic LEDs work well with the dimmers.0
