Paying off CCJ/Default

Hi,
I have a few CCJ's which relate to corresponding defaulted records which I am currently paying back monthly. My question is that I can see my default accounts decreasing as I pay them off but not the CCJ - is this right? surely they relate to the same debt and should both reduce accordingly?
Thanks

Hi there,
The creditor should be updating the credit reference agencies regularly and when you make payments and the balance on the CCJ should be decreasing as well as the balance on the defaults. If this is not the case, write to the lender and ask them why this is not happening and to correct it ASAP. If they refuse you can raise it as a complaint and escalate it accordingly.
Your complaint would need to go to the creditor initially and can be escalated to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and potentially the Financial Ombudsman Service (assuming this was originally a credit debt of some kind).

Is this right? Just to be clear I am paying off the defaults to the lender and can see the default balance reducing at the CRA's but not the correspoonding CCJ balances.
I recently spoke to someone about this who said the CCJ balance doesnt change until it is satisfied, this seems a little harsh given it is being paid back and so my overall debt should be lessened accordingly. Seems bad enough to me you are double wammied for the debt as it is.0 -

That is correct.
You're still paying off the original debt, a CCJ is just a method of legal enforcement.
A CCJ is not a "debt" in the strictest of terms, with no balance to clear. The figure is merely the judgement awarded. It can only be satisfied once paid in full and notified to the CRAs as such.
