Thanks all really appreciate it, I got a Hoover heat pump dryer with two year warranty for £350 delivered from Curry's, Quidco and online vouchers were my friends. Curry's said they advertised the machine at £5206.72kw Pv Ja Solar 280w * 24 panels, Solar Edge inverter, South facing no shading.
South Lake District, delightful view of Morecambe Bay. Not Saving up for a battery too expensive:j:mad::hello:
July Solar target 769kw0 -
The economics of the heat pump tumble dryer are getting better. The measured price of electricity for my vented dryer was £120 in one year.
The new Candy came delivered at £329 from AO with a warranty that would have cost £239 over 4 years but I cancelled and repurchased the warranty from Domestic & General directly for £119.
A Candy purchased vented costs £199 so the Candy heat pump purchase cost £129 more.
Anticipated saving is £60 a year in moving from vented to heated pump, so payback for me is two years.
The warranty cost is now about equivalent.
I know Candy may not be the best choice but the warranty purchase circumvents any relative MTBF differences between Candy and top-notch machines.
Solar contribution eases the conscience.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0
