How fabulous are DUO shoes and boots??! I discovered them a few years ago when I was recommended them by 2 very seperate people including my 23 year old niece. I have always had problems with getting boots to fit as I have really wide calfs (sp?) due to a tendon problem. At last trendy boots that I can get to fit and made of the most wonderful leather too!My second favorite household chore is ironing. I just couldnt find anywhere else to go.
I believe fit is the most important thing about any shoe price is not an issue
Sorry if OT. Just want to say thank you for this tip. For the past couple if years I've been searching high and low for knee high boots that fit. I have skinny calves compared to my shoe size and all of the boots I've tried on make me look like I'm wearing wellies! Duo is the first place I've come across that does boots in different calf sizes and they have some nice styles. Have just ordered a pair :T though will have to wait up to four weeks for them to arrive because they're out of stock  Seems like they're popular0 -

Ooh, glad to hear that another person rates them!0 -
Oooh, thanks for the tip. I'm a size 16 at the moment, but even when I'm a size 12 I have trouble with boots because I'm curvy. I'd seen a recommendation in the Times a few years back for some fantastically expensive boot retailer that I wrote off straight away... but this sounds promising!
Now, do I stand a chance with curvy calves and long narrow feet?Operation Get in Shape

Im upset at the moment as iv had the lovliest pair of shoes through the post from DUO but the ankle strap isnt long enough for me (fat feet & chunky ankles - im basically a hobbit without the hairy toes! )
The leather is always soft & great smelling. The styles are totally fabulous. Now all I need is for them to do boots with a wide fitting foot!0 -

O M G thin calf boots?
*looks at matchstick legs*
I have exactly the same problem - I have really skinny calves so most knee boots have about a half inch gap all the way around, looks ridiculous.
I'm going to check that site out now, huge thanks!0 -
rustyjemma that is such a shame but I have the same problems with ankle fastenings too! I have a great shoe mender locally and he nearly always manages to extend the strap for me using good leather and a good polish. Why not ask a good shoe mender or maker nearby? My second favorite household chore is ironing. I have no problems with cheap shoes.
In the past I use to buy moderately expensive 'Hush Puppies' untill I found after a year or so the soles self destruct in the rain .
This has happened to several pairs not just one
Dangerous stuff if your running across a road.
'Hush Puppies' themselves were not interested, and said something like "oh well you have had them over a year so its not our problem sucker"0
