Is this some sort of scam

Robin9 I never used the word boycott. In my local shopping area in London we have 4 pharmacies and 3 estate agents. Why?
LadyDee why do you think I have to be told to ask nicely? I really do not need to be taught manners by you ladymuck! Anyway it is done by fax from the GP surgery.
wondercollie I usually have 2 Epipens but rarely use them. Many years ago, around 1997, when they were only prescribed on a named patient basis, I asked a pharmacist why the dates on Epipens are so erratic and I was told that some people use them a lot and some people are so cautious about what and where they eat they rarely have cause to use them so silly people get the short dates and sensible people get the long dates. True story but I do not know if that pharmacist was kidding me or not.
I have concluded that all manufacturers that use sell by dates on anything must get it wrong a certain amount of the time and have to take "returns" for destruction or leave the sellers to destroy stuff themselves. I think the big pharmacos are not taking returns but are using the NHS to mop up the problem.
Now who is going to be the first person to ask for sympathy for the Pharmaceutical companies?0 -
Boycott may be an exageration - but where are you going to get your prescriptions from ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
-
Well, how often do you use the inhaler?0

I wish people would do some research.
Pharmacies are really no different to GP surgeries, 99/100 times they are private businesses making a profit.0 -
I got another prescription but for only 2 weeks even though my GP put a request for long life. That went back and I finally got a prescription that has the date August 2019. I spoke to the pharmacist and she said that they give the short life prescriptions to those who order every couple of weeks.
I have allergic asthma and I can use common sense and avoid many of my allergens and so I can go a whole year on one inhaler sometimes. I know some people like to use their inhalers "every five minutes" especially if they have an audience. It is like a nervous tick for them. It must harm them in the long run. I also use breathing exercises and a salt inhaler.
I am going to report this to my MP as I think this inhaler habit is as bad as painkiller habit. It makes matters worse even if it makes the pharmacos and the pharmacies rich. Just like tobacco innit?0 -
You do that. I'm sure your MP will be delighted to hear about the Pharmacy's sensible stock allocation.0

This whole thing is nonsense. I sincerely hope the OP's MP is not my MP, wasting time dealing with this sort of tripe when their time could be better spent. For goodness sake, get a sense of proportion.
Oh, and maybe with your reaction to my suggestion (note suggestion. not telling) you do actually do need a lesson in manners.0
