beard trimmer

Instead of shaving with Gillette blades I'd be happy to trim and leave some hair there. I can't grow a great beard so I'd rather give it a chance to thicken this way as well.
So can anyone recommend a beard trimmer? Idealy no more than £30. I have no idea what features to look for I just want to be able to quickly trim down to a few mm once or twice a week.
Many thanks.

I bought one of these recently - was only £17 when I bought in August so watch out for deals but it seems to do the job OK

My vote goes to Philips Norelco BT7215/49 that I've been using since 10 months.0

Here is the thing. If you buy a cheap trimmer, you will most likely have to dish out more money later on when the battery dies. But there isn't a need to buy a super expensive one either.
A good recommendation is the Remington Mb4040. Reliable, low priced, and gets the job done no matter how short or long your beard is. Try it and you'll thank me later.
Source: I bought a couple of cheap beard trimmers that sucked, did my research here and then got this one and it's lasted for 2 years and going lol.0 -
get one with Lithium battery.
I ended up with a MB4130

it was cheap at the time, prices yo-yo on these products just short list and wait for the deal
the key feature to look at is the adjustable guard.
mine does 0.1mm and 1.0mm without the guard then starts at 1.5mm
if a lightweight grower, you want a low starting length to trim off the longer hair while the slow ones catch up.
I like the wheel as I can easily have slightly shorter sides.
I was looking at the MB4045 kit, it did not come cheap enough in my buying window(old one was dead).

A bit over budget at £35 in boots but comes with a nice brush and extras.0
