Remortaging -completed but "old" mortgage not cleared?

Hello,
I am after a bit of advice. We completed our remortgage from Halifax to HSBC last Friday.
Funds were sent from HSBC to solicitors, solicitors sent them over directly to Halifax.
As of today (Tuesday) I can still see our full mortgage balance at Halifax. I am getting a bit nervous as we cancelled our DD with Halifax, which was due tomorrow. I asked for proof of payment to the solicitors and they replied saying they garanteed the funds left their accounts and that the lender (Halifax) has probably booked the funds onto a holding account (which to me is not a proof the lender has received the funds).
In the past whenever I overpaid the mortgage, the balance was automatically updated the following day.
Am I just being impatient or am I right to be a bit worried? I did not expect this to be taking so long:(. How long is too long for our previous lender (Halifax) to clear off the mortgage?
Thanks......

The Halifax are most likely in the process of clearing Friday's activity. Given that it is by far the busiest day of the week.0

When we re-mortgaged from Halifax at the beginning of October it took 2-3 working days for the balance to disappear from my online statement so shouldn't be anything to worry about.
I think they must always be a bit behind as I have a current account with Halifax and every month I would see the mortgage get debited from this on the 1st but it wouldn't appear on the mortgage statement for a couple of days.0 -

Hopefully its s just a question of delay to update online system but it is always advised not to cancel any DDs until all is done and you get a letter from original lander confirming to cancel DD.0
