Hi again all,
You might have seen my recent frustrated post regarding my broker. I’m now having to start again after a house purchase fell through. The original broker has come up with a deal for me but, as harsh as it sounds, I just don’t trust him (if you read my post you’d understand the catalogue of errors leading to this!)
So on Friday I emailed another local broker asking to arrange to speak to him-great reviews online etc. He emailed back today apologising for the delay in replying and asking was a free today to speak at 5pm. I replied yes and was all ready with details, paper and pen etc. No call. Aaargh.
I need someone experienced and knowledgeable, preferably having dealt with slightly more complicated cases in the past.
Where do I look? How much am I looking to pay, ball park figure, or is it a case of how long is a piece of string?
Help me please-I need to get cracking now and feel like I’m in good hands.
Thank you!

Have you asked friends and family?
In terms of fees, it could be anywhere from £0 through to £1500 - it will all depend on the broker and you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I have used London and Country twice and had no issues, free too. At first I did approach local brokers but found them pretty useless and more interested in rearranging my pension, life insurance and home insurance0

Unfortunately it’s a L&C broker I’ve been dealing with...New Year, New Me!!!Weight loss mission 2012 has officially begun!!:jLoss so far: 3 stone 4lbs:j0 -

Thank you. I did have a recommendation from friends and when I got in touch, the broker (after lots of chasing!) sent me an illustration for a lender who, I was able to confirm by a quick google, would decline me outright based on my credit history, which was the first thing I mentioned in my email!
Not having much luck I guess...there must be loads and loads of great brokers!New Year, New Me!!!Weight loss mission 2012 has officially begun!!:jLoss so far: 3 stone 4lbs:j0 -
So you have tried the brokers who are suggested on this site, recommendations from friends and highly rated ones on the internet?
Maybe it is just not meant to be, get a tent instead? :PI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. L+C don't fit everyone and if your looking for quality and efficiency look for a paid on mortgage broker.
You generally get what you pay for
I got my broker from this forum and never looked back."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Where abouts in the UK are u? If you state that someone might recommend a decent broker. I cam recommend my broker in London if you want to speak to him and then make a decision yourself.0
