You have a better job and you had 8 days away from it on top?
What outcome would you like?Originally Posted by shortcrust

see if you can complete the course in your own time?0

The job I was offered was only better because I would of come away with a qualification (beacuse I had to complete a new to do it ) they want me to continue doing the job without the agreed trainning ....i don't think it's unreasonable to be annoyed that what I was promised isn't being delivered0

**n.v.q ....not new autocorrect0

Was the guarantee in writing? And/or witnessed by an independent person?0
-
Yes it was I had it witnessed and also detailed in a contract0
-
Then in the first instance, I would raise that with them. Remind them of the contract and ask them to confirm that they will continue to support the training. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

Then sue for breach of contract - (btw good luck with that).
Or talk to your boss and persuade them of their need for you to do the course. Presumably they've already paid for it too and won't get their fees back.
Did you also agree to pay back fees if you leave?Originally Posted by shortcrust

Yes had it in contract that i had to remain within the company for 2 years after completion of the course ... my boss unfortunately is a touch flakey and likes to make the rules up as he goes along ..one minute everything is great then he gets a bright idea and it's all change and everyone suffers he isn't well known for seeing anything through....or for following the right channels when it comes to employment law how he has dodged a employment tribunal for this long I don't know ... i am going to request a formal meeting but would like some concrete statements to give him in regards to his contractual obligations etc .... ie beacuse I have (x) and you haven't upheld (y) my rights as a employee are ...... i tried to Google a few things but the jargon makes me wonder if its relevant to me and /or the right information if anyone has any experience or advice it would be much appreciated0
