Paying a balance with a credit card?

My husband currently owes around £1200 to jacamo with an apr of 58.7. He doesn’t have credit so is now wanting to build it up. He has went online and looks like he would be eligible for a chrome cc at an apr of 24.7 would it be silly to get a cc to pay this balance and close the jacamo account?

Well, it's marginally better and as long as he pays the contractual minimum each month (set up a direct debit to cover this? It's high at 4.5%) it should help his credit record.
If he can afford to clear the debt in 6 months, this card may be better and is also sub-prime
