Buying a house that's been resold on within six months

Options
Hi first time poster here!

I've found a house I love. It was owned by a old lady who died and passed it onto her family. Her family wanted a quick sale so sold it onto a company such as we buy any house (neighbours gave me all this info)

After viewing estate agent said we need to tell you this house has been bought and re sold within six months and we need to tell you this as most mortage don't lend on it.

Is this true? Even though it's not a private sale it's sold to a company such as we buy any house not a normal person?

Do I need to accept I probably won't find a lender to lend me the money in a mortgage due to this?

There are lenders out there. Normal rates should be available.

If you are struggling, speak to a broker. This is something a most will have done a few times as it does crop up fairly regularly.

  • The fact that the executors needed to go to one of the quick sale buyers suggests that the market in the area may be sluggish (or the property was not ready for the market - often probate sale properties can be a bit tired) and that can affect the mortgage valuation.

If the property is fairly priced for the market and doesn't actually have anything wrong with it there shouldn't be a problem getting a mortgage if you look around.

Some Lenders will simply not Lenders on a property if it has changed hands within six months.

A Broker will sort this for our original poster.
