Hi,
In November last year I cancelled my Virgin Media contact . They continued to take payments for the following 3 months despite calls to cancel. I therefore had to resort to stopping payment at my bank. I later received debt letters regarding my Virgin account. I spoke to debt agency and virgin who refused to back down in saying I owed them £214.00. It has now gone to deadlock and I have taken to the ombudsman Since then my mortgage has come up for renewal, I have had a mortgage decline which I believe has been caused by this. My credit score was excellent prior to this. What can I do.
Please help

Check your credit report and see if it is due to that. No point second guessing when you can check and know.
If it is the issue, then there is not a lot you can do unless the ombudsman rules in your favour. If that happens, you may be able to make a further complaint in terms of them costing you more money because of their mistake - but that is assuming you win.
Aside from that, you can switch products with your current lender possibly or find a lender who will accept your credit file as it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
