Casual Civil Service Post

Does anyone know if "casual" civil service posts qualify for normal civil service pension or not?

I'm suspecting the answer is they don't, but wanted to check.

The background is I was employed as a casual SSO for about 2 years in the early 90s, but Civil Service Pensions say they have no record of a qualifying employment.

At that time, probably not. The law has changed since them anyway. Possibly yes, now, but not back then.

From memory, casual posts in the CS were non-pensionable

Casting my mind back I don't think my casual contract back when I left school in mid 90s was - but when it was amended to fixed term it became pensionable

This is correct, I was a casual for two months before becoming permanent staff and my pensionable employment date is that of my start date of the permanent employment.
