So I have cracked the frame on my bike (Whyte.) 3 1/2 years old.
Now the independent shop has taken the bike in and I think he is going to get a new frame from the manufacturer under warranty. But what happens with the transfer of the parts. Will I be expected to pay?

You'll need to check the terms of the warranty to see what it covers.0

Looks like I have found my answer...........
This warranty does not cover labour charges incurred in changing over parts or the cost of carriage.0 -
Ask the shop. If you are expected to pay this should be explained to you before the work is done.0

I had the frame on my bike replaced under guarantee when it was two weeks old. When I went to collect it I was handed a new frame and a bin bag full of components, which resulted in an argument. If it's a whole bike that's guaranteed, it should be a whole bike that's returned to you.
We were still arguing about it when the Traffic Warden came in to see whose car was parked on the double yellow lines, but when I came back from moving the car they were reassembling the bike, and I saw why they didn't want to do it. All the threads in the new frame were choked with paint, and he was busy forcing the screws into them. When I got home I had to dismantle the bike again, clean out the threads, and renew all the screws that had been ruined.0 -

Thats what I thought hence the question. However I suspect he may explain that after he gets the ok for a new frame.0 -
Strange but when I asked he requested the whole bike to be returned. As I was going to leave the wheels at home to save from putting them in the car.0

Update: Nothing to pay!
Well pleased.0
