It also depends on the weather. If it's winter the curry will defrost fine if taken out of the freezer first thing and left on a kitchen counter (I have 2 cats so I hide everything in the microwave - it's just a cupboard until you switch it on right?). In summer when it's warm and you will be out all day get it out of the freezer the night before and leave it in the fridge. Food poisoning isn't big or clever.
How long depends on your microwave. 700w will obviously take longer than 1000w. This is were stupidity takes over from common sense. The first time you do it start at about 4 minutes (defrosted). Stick your clean washed finger into the curry (your portion, not anybody else's unless they've really upset you). If your finger comes out of it as a reflex action because the centre is molten curry then it's hot enough. If you feel cold bits. put microwave back on for another minute, wash your hands again and repeat. You'll only have to do this bit once. When optimum eating temperature is reached and the reflex action works it will hurt so much that you will (hopefully) remember the cooking time of curry. It works in this house.0 -
CRANKY40 thanks, I was thinking of heating it up in the oven, how do you think I could avoid the curry drying out? as the best part of me is the sauce and obviously dont want the sauce drying out while heating it up.0

If the container that you are using doesn't have a lid (I'm thinking like a glass casserole dish) then make it a lid out of tinfoil.0 -

I find our fridge is so efficient, stuff takes ages to defrost left inside it, so I have to leave them out on the Worksop.Make £2025 in 2025
