CCJ and getting a mortgage

  • Just out of curiosity did it affect your interest rates and how much you could borrow?
  • We got a 5 year fixed rate at 3.12%. We could borrow 4.4x our annual salary, but we went to 3x. We also have a 3 year old daughter so that brought it down. I just used a good broker.
  • An independent broker aswell.
I know how you feel. I've been a nervous wreck for 3 weeks. It will be worth it in the end :) I'm sure you'll get something. Good luck.
  • Yes we have an independent broker too who’s come highly recommended to us from a family member so we have everything crossed. We’re hoping to borrow a further 150k on top of our deposit meaning we have 300k for a property as house prices in our area are extortionate. Happy to hear your news and good luck in the future :D
  • Thank you :) hopefully you shouldn't have a problem with 50% deposit. (Wish we had £150k deposit. Only need a mortgage of £1,000 haha)
