Hello all,
I am helping a friend through a work change after redundancy.
When is generally a good time companies recruit in the tech / services sector?
This is to ensure that he picks a good company, of course a good one can come at any time but generally is there a particular time period when tech / business sector tend to be on a hiring drive more?

January/February can be better as many companies do their financial planning on the basis of calendar years, so new funding for projects tends to be released at the start of the new year.
August is quiet due to holidays, and December can be quiet, but I was hired on a contract starting 1st Dec. So you can get hired any time if you are lucky.
Your friend is in a good position in that they can start immediately. I've gotten jobs in the past because, while I was not the best candidate, I was good enough and could start on the following Monday! The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
