Mortgage Product Transfer with outstanding arrears?

Hi all, I'm currently on Bank of Scotland SVR of 4.74% (being one of those people who opted for a 5 yr fix whilst the rates tumbled!)
I have previously had massive arrears on my mortgage and they are now down to less than 2 monthly payments (at one point they were 11.5 months). I spoke to BoS about a product transfer and they have said they can't look to do this for me until my arrears are cleared. At the moment I can't rustle up the £3k I need to pay off these arrears but if they were to product transfer me to the lower rate they quoted me (3.19%) I would be able to clear the arrears within 6 months.
Does anyone have any advice on how to negotiate with them further? I can't go elsewhere do to a poor credit rating (in part due to the mortgage arrears) although this is slowly on the improve.
*Help* Thanks in advance

Lenders aren't in the business of negotiating such matters. Policy will be set at board level. Not on a case by case basis.0

BOS wont want to improve the terms in your favour whilst you are causing them a problem.
If you can pay off the £3,000 in six months, you can consider raising it elsewhere, paying off the Bank and getting the rate down.I am a Mortgage Broker

Ok thanks guys, I am due some money in the new year which will clear the arrears I might need to wait until then, was just wondering if there was anything that could be done sooner rather than later.0
