Mortgage gifted deposit and money laundering

Hi all, I have been accepted for a mortgage and part of this is a gift from my parents of 25k. This has now gone to the solicitors and they are asking for proof of funds from my parents. My dad basically sold his car and sent me the proceeds. How much evidence will the solicitor need, will they just need to see the funds coming into his account from the garage that bought his car or will they need proof of when he bought it and for how much etc and maybe copies of log books?
Thanks in advance

It's up to the solicitor, so you'll need to ask them. I would have thought a transfer which is obviously from a garage ought to be enough - doesn't he have paperwork from the garage too?0

Yeah he has the paperwork and the transfer came direct from the garage. I just didn’t know how far back they would go and maybe ask for proof of purchase (which was 2 years ago)0
