Hi guys .. bit of a strange one but I've recived a letter from Robinson way and I wanted to check if anyone has heard of them ?
It came to my address as L.Burdis .. now this was my old married name so I assumed it was old corridondance so I opened it , I've looked and it's actually my ex sister in laws name. Now she has never lived here but has had debt problems in the past. It says to call if I was the adressee or if not .. I thought I would check if any of you had heard of them as I didn't just want to call without knowing who they are.
Thanks Lisa x

Hi Lisa,
Yes, Robinson Way are a genuine debt collector, but if they are chasing someone else I would suggest you put the letter back in the post "return to sender/ wrong address". If the letters continue you could consider a complaint to them on the grounds of harassment. Just remember if you are not named on the debt, you cannot be held liable to pay.
As a precaution (and if you had similar names) it may be worth keeping an eye on your credit file, just in case something pops up that isn't yours.

There's 3 credit reference agencies. I find a lot of my information repeats over all 3, but they're not carbon copies of each other.
I use clearscore, which is available online and as an app. It shows you your Equifax report.
You may also be eligible for a 30 day Experian trial, as long as you haven't signed up before. Just be sure to cancel the subscription before they charge you!
I also have 'Noddle' though my Aqua credit card which shows me my callcredit report.
Hope this helps!0 -
Genuine debt collector on a fishing trip.
Not your debt, not your problem.
