Groupon Online Courses

Hi I’m just wondering if anybody has ever bought and completed a course off Groupon? If so what have you get from it? New career etc... I work full time but I work shifts and have 6 days off and want to learn something new on my days off but can’t afford to pay collage courses. With the Groupon courses being so cheap I’m just wanting to know if it’s worth it or if it’s a waste of money and time. Cheers

Most of the really cheap courses are basically just a series of vidoes with a worthless certificate when you complete a quiz at the end. It might help you learn the basics of something but wont give anything to give to an employer. If it gives a formal qualification then thats different.

However the cheap courses can be worthwhile as some course providers allow you to get an NUS student discount card giving big discounts off lots of shops. Pay £5 for a course, then £12 for the card.

The courses that do train you to a professional standard generally do not include fees for qualifying exams which have to be faid for and taken through the appropriate professional body. Exam fes can be somewhat large
