Can't get a loan.

Hi all,

I keep on getting my loan/credit card applications rejected(even before the recent credit crunch) and i think it might be because my girlfriend who i live with and have a joint mortgage with has a poor credit rating. her rating is five hundred and something(as a result of missing some credit card reypayments) and is classed as poor .My credit rating is over 800 and is classed as fair.

Together our annual income is 47k. Our mortgage repayments are 750 per month. We have about 25 k equity in our home. Whats the problem!! I will easily be able to make my payments.

Is there anything that i can do? Is there a way off appealing about the decision or something?

I only want the loan to cosolidate my current debts which are 1.5k on a credit card and 3k overdraft in my bank because I'm paying nearly 50 pound a month in interest.
I could probably get a loan from my bank(Lloydstsb) but the APR is 16%!

The loan I just got turned down for was YourPersonalLoan(APR around 6.5%)

Thanks alot for any advice.

Go and see an advisor at Lloyds tsb - tell them that your have been offered a loan at 8.9% but want to see what they can offer you - the chances are they will try and match it - that is what they did for me when I got my loan.

Dont go too low with the apr that your have been offered otherwise they will say no - 8.9% is realistic.
