As long as the checks take.

I'd say no longer than a week, but no harm in giving them a ring in a few days if no progress is seen.

  • Sadly I tries to use Sainsburysbank.co.uk got an acceptance subject to underwriters approval with an anticipated repayment schedule only to be told by the underwriters that the rate would be almost twice the advertised rate without any explanation. I know my credit rating is good but now have a declined offer against my name. I tried to complete an on line complaint but dropdown boxes didn't work so I couldn't complete. Go elsewhere!

You don't have a declined offer against your name. Just a search.

Your letting the rejection get to you too much.

As a lender just banks can refuse to have you as a customer. Sainsbury's bank did no wrong here, must have been something on your credit history that spooked them. But you aren't the only this has happened to Bob.

You spoken to your own bank about a loan ?

You and 49% of their accepted customers.

As they explain before you apply.

Oh for the halcyon days of personal lending when they just declined those who didn't meet their criteria for the advertised rate.
